Trio of Bulls Earn All-MAC Honors

A trio of University at Buffalo softball players were honored on Tuesday afternoon as the Mid-American Conference announced its postseason awards. Sophomore Anna Aguon and Junior Jenelle Martinez were named to the All-MAC First Team while Alexis Matheney was named to the All-Freshman Team. It marks the first time since 2014 that the Bulls have placed multiple student-athletes to the All-MAC first team.

Senior Jamison Dumont (SR/Pleasanton, TX) was named the University of Houston-Victoria softball MVP on Tuesday during the annual UHV athletic banquet.


Dumont, who was named the 2019 Red River Athletic Conference Defenisve Player of the Year, led her team with a .423 batting average, seven home runs, 32 RBI and a .628 slugging percentage. She committed just three errors in 275 chances at first base.

Senior first baseman Jamison Dumont (SR/Pleasanton, TX) and senior pitcher Peyton Branham (SR/Houston, TX) were among the 14 conference players named to the all-tournament team.

The University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars softball team is headed to Dodge City, Kan., for the NAIA Softball Opening Round Tournament set for May 13-15.


The Jaguars earned the No. 2 seed for the Dodge City Bracket and will open against Bellevue (Neb.) in the opening round on Monday. The other half of the four-team bracket will feature No. 1-seed Science and Arts of Oklahoma and No. 4-seed Avila (Mo.).
