Nice Tip from Responsible Sports

Your children's youth sports experience will end, and it may happen suddenly. Hopefully, you will not look back and think, "I wish I had enjoyed it more instead of obsessing over performance, or playing time or the team's record." Enjoy the experience; it will end too soon.

Straight and to the point I like it. Parents tend to not look at the actual experience that the entire family is having nor have the respect for the girls just for stepping on to that field. They want more out of them-really? They took the field and tried their hardest (and learned)-the end.
Seems like yesterday I was watching my daughter figure out how to wear her glove and now I am watching her play indoor for Winter with her high school team. She decided no more travel. Gone-Poof-Just like that. I can't remember all the errors she had through out the years, but I do remember all the memories and friendships that were made.
Guess what? Sorry to break it to you but, they probably won't be recruited by that amazing college and they 99.9% of the time won't make a career out of the game. Loosen up and enjoy the time with your family.
I wish someone would have warned me about how fast it goes. Sorry Strohbro for hijacking-I am just a strong supporter of what you posted.

Learned that when my dd went down with a torn ACL. She's back now and loving it. All I want is to see her healthy, happy, and having a great time doing what she loves.

Everything goes fast after a certain age; seems like she was born and then I turned around and she was talking, and walking, and then going to school and then DRIVING!

I often have those "It is so nice to be sitting outdoors on this beautiful day and watching softball" moments. :yahoo:

But even when I practice awareness, and appreciate life, I know it will be gone in a blink of an eye. :(
