Hard to believe the market here can support two leagues, especially with outlying areas moving toward their own leagues.

thanks for all the comments. PSEO is endorsed for the league by SGS/Thunder travel ball/Maumee youth and is seeking endorsements from other organizations. This is being run by PSEO though. It had came to our attention: 1. that some teams preferred to have a Permanent site to play at with full concessions and restrooms, umps set up, paid in the fee and balls provided instead of doing those things on their own, 2. Travel teams wanted to be able to play in the spring league 3. Allow community based and travel teams participate and select the level they want to play at. Hearing those points, we decided to try to see how many teams were interested in participating, and thus far there has been interest, which is appreciated. This is a TOTALLY different concept for what is currently available in Spring or summer leagues for more info please: mark@premiersportingevents.net or visit www.permiersportingevents.net PSEO is looking to do more events for ALL organizations in NWO, contact me for more information.
Thanks, Mark.

I agree with LadyIrish. Although I understand you are providing a "different" alternative, it definitely appears to be an attempt to drive competitors out of the market. The strongest organization will eventually win out. As a parent of an athlete, I'd like to see all NWO opportunities remain available. I don't believe a lot of thought is given to the athletes in this "quest for dominance".

Premier's intent is to offer a complete alternative format, that's been asked for! I believe that is what the other organizations did originally, provided something that no one was offering. It is somewhat perplexing, that when something different is offered, that it would be criticiized. Free enterprise, not monopolies are what makes this country great. When someone started Chrysler did they get criticized for Ford already being in the Market? We are just simply saying to the teams out there, this is something we are doing, we are setting up ALL INCLUSIVE leagues, much like SGS and FAST do for fall leagues, but we are offering it during spring, and also offering Travel teams to play, who had NO avenue prior. FAST in the spring, and SGS in the summer simply register teams, set up a schedule and each team finds it's own fields/umps and balls. We are open to suggestions and comments, and we feel certain that teams play in this league will be happy with the format, quality and price.

lol, I want to know when allowing a market to determine what it wants became a bad thing.

I also have no idea how having 2 different leagues somehow is not taking the kids into consideration, I believe its just the opposite. Having 2 leagues competeing for our business can be nothing but good for the kids.

I think the people who are posting on here that are not with either FAST or SGS need to embrace such a move. If you prefer one league then play in it, whats the big deal.

I really dont know why this is a problem, I think highly of both Jim Hall SGS and Martin Drain (FAST) but I would prefer unless they are trying to pull off some kind of major tournament that requires them to work together that they do things on their own, in whatever way they think is best.

Most of us want softball in NWO (btw NWO softball rocks, dont let anybody tell you any different) to continue on its torrid pace in developing players, having 2 organizations trying to get customers (Players) into their leagues is only going to created better leagues in the future.

My DD does not play for either Organization, and I personally would prefer to know every game where I am going to be and really like Rolf park. Somebody else might like going to the different schools and communities. Now there are leagues for both of us.

It's a nice thought about free enterprise and I agree to an extent. When I tried it I was sued for a $1,000,000. The out of court settlement was that I would not compete against them in the summer for three years. So who really believes in free enterprise??? Now this "shadow" group is formed to compete in the Spring. Who really is Premier and what experience do they have??
There are advantages to have the games at one complex and also disadvantages.
I just wish that programs would put their money where it really counts and not worry about how much money they can make.

Free market is fine. Let the organizations compete. My point is there is not a big enough market for two NWO organizations to offer similar products and both make money. Eventually this will lead to a monopoly and less choice for athletes and parents. And I don't believe for a minute this is all about offering choices to girls; it's at least equally about grabbing market share. And that's fine; free market and all. Except I'm a little confused about the lawsuit aspect of this. One org. sues another one because they put other alternatives out there for girls? How does a judge even look at a lawsuit like that?

Fast, maybe you should offer a "completely different" summer alternative.

1) how do you know there isnt a big enough market?
2) Currently the athletes only have once choice.
3) If each organization gets sole rights to a specific season, isnt that actually a monoply lol?

Like I had said I know both organizations are made up of great people with their own set of ideas, I am not connected to either group accept for friendships with higher ups in both organizations. I just cant see how this is a bad thing for our area, I just dont. Competition fuels growth IMO.

I do like two competing organizations running in the same season except the geographic gaps it can create which may cause more traveling for the teams. For example, if one league has Perrysburg and Springfield and the other has Maumee and Sylvania, teams are traveling past one community to play in another.

WOW! First off, we didn't create any market confusion, we CLEARLY said
in our flyers, who we are, what we are doing. FAST, I'm disappointed in
your comments, especially after having correspondence from you yesterday
saying you had no problem with Premier. I apologize to the OFC community
for the negative direction this thread has taken by others, on something
I was offering to the community that filled a niche that was being asked
for. I'll try to reply to some questions directly and respectfully. 1.
Uber- no pis sing contest from me, I quote John Cooper OSU 2000 "my
daddy told me never to get in a pis sing contest with a skunk"! 2. FAST-
What ever you were sued about, and what ever you settled for has NOTHING
to do with Premier. Feel free to start ANOTHER thread and discuss it if
you like. FAST- We are no "shadow" group. I started this company to
manage and host Sporting events of ALL kinds, not just fastpitch, for
all organizations and communities in NWO area. To do competently what
others can't or won't, and to fill Market Niche's, using this criteria:
1. Worthwhile events 2. Better 3. Cheaper. 4. FAST- who am I? you know
who I am, and EVERYONE is welcome to visit and check it out:
www.premiersportingevents.net, my expertise is: 1. internet site
management and hosting, Director of QUALITY fastpitch tournaments,
Director of a Highly competitive travel organization, that charges
$275.00 for 5 tournaments, bat bags, helmets, uniforms and league play.
Operate a small private business producing custom cornhole games
www.http://www.kornholebykak.com/ , League director, and general nice
guy! 5. FAST- your quote "I just wish that programs would put their
money where it really counts and not worry about how much money they can
make" is a little tough to swallow coming from you. Premier WILL donate
all concession profits to Maumee Youth Softball AND make a yearly
donation to support and grow opportuniies for female athletes in NWO, we
welcome requests from others for this donation. 6. Smiley_12- if there
isn't a big enough market [with travel teams and communities requesting
this format, we hope there is, and we dont' want the WHOLE market, just
enough to fill Rolf and LCRC], then the market will determine that. At
$695.00 for fields, 2 Umps and balls, the profit margin is very small if
any at all, again this league was asked for because nothing similar was
available, and we hope to grow it. "Lead to a monolpoly"? that's all
that currently is available. market competition DRIVES quality and lower
cost, now some of our competitors may not want that, but that isn't our
concern either. Lastly Smiley we are exploring doing this concept for
summer, IF there is a sufficient demand. Obviously teams like this
format, why else would there be Tournaments weekend after weekend in
NWO?. Originally only Mr. Tooman and SGS did tournaments in NWO, And I
never saw internet complaints when FAST started competing with them,
or those organizations crying about over "saturation, market share or
monopolies" . It's what America is SUPPOSED To be about. That's free
enterprise. When I approached SGS, I already had this program in place,
I was looking for their and others endorsement, they could have said no,
and attempted to do their own thing.

In closing, Premier Sporting Events of Ohio LLC is looking to do
functions for all sports, if your organization has interest in our
capabilities, please email me, we do fund raising, managing programs,
running tournaments and all other sport related functions, with a proven
track record of excellence and affordability. We will not attack any other organization or individual, even if it is in competition with our events.
Sincerely Mark

Apparently there was plenty of crying going on but only the parties to the $1,000,000 lawsuit know exactly what that crying was about.

Let the competition begin! What are the choices for summer leagues around NWO?

Would you like to see a league based at one site all summer Smiley? Only problem is most sites that can accomodate that is not available during the week, due to rec ball and adult leagues. We do have an idea though we are working on. Only Summer Fastpitch league in NWO we are aware of is the SGS's. This is a league where they register teams, sanctiion them with ASA/USSSA and develop schedules and teams home team provides field availability, schedules umps and provide balls. www.premiersportingevents.net
