OCC CARDINAL DIVISION Conference

The OCC-Cardinal is now a three-horse race for the title.

Marysville has a one-game lead and (depending on weather) is scheduled to play North (at North) next Friday. They also travel to third-place Olentangy on Monday and Dublin Scioto on Wednesday.

North plays city-league rivals South and Central next week, in addition to the sectional kickoff against Briggs, before hosting Marysville.

Olentangy is statistically still in the race, but is 3.5 games back with only 4 games left to play. If Marysville wins one game or North wins two games, they are out of the title hunt.

And no, I can't figure out why there is so much white space below this line.

In a starlight double-header on Friday night, Westerville Central defeats Olentangy to take them out of the OCC Cardinal title race. Both teams are now 7-5.

I understand the game wrapped up about 11:45 PM under the lights at Olentangy.

Is there anywhere that shows the standings in all the divisions? It sure would be nice if the Dispatch would put a little effort into high school stats and and break the "area leaders" down by OHSAA division or conference and add standings.

The OCC has a website, but it is a joke. It has promised conference information for more than a year, and at best has some links to old newspaper articles.

North defeated South 5-3 Monday night at South.
Olentangy defeated Marysville 2-1 in 9 innings, dropping Marysville into a tie with two games remaining.

North has Westerville Central, then hosts Marysville on Friday.
Marysville has a game remaining with Dublin Scioto.

I didn't have a score yet for Monday's match between Scioto and Liberty.

Westerville North captures a share of the conference crown for the first time in 10 years. The Warriors defeated Marysville in both matches, 4-1 at Marysville and 2-0 at North in the last conference game for both teams. North lost 3-2 contests to both Olentangy and Liberty, and dropped a 6-3 extra-inning game to Westerville Central in the last week.

I believe this is Marysville's 4th straight year at the top of the OCC. Besides the two losses to North, they also lost to Olentangy 2-1 in the final week.

I resolve to go to HTML classes in the off-season so I can post cool standings next year. Despite help from other OFCers, I am still crawling in that regard.
