OHIO High School REGIONALS PREDICTIONS

I'm looking forward to hearing more about this young lady- she sounds very promising - does she have any interest in Ohio State?

I've seen plenty a game lost when there was a great pitcher in the circle....you need D - even if the girl is striking everyone out, you need a catcher to not drop the pitches and you need hits/people on base to win games. To me, that is what makes regionals fun- teams that win usually have a combination of good pitching, timely hitting and defense (and sensible coaching). There are plenty of "good" teams that get knocked out early because they were missing one of the key elements.

no idea about the kids aspirations...although I know what you mean. The team behind her isn't terrible and they did hit and run well. Catcher caught the ball, the girl has great movement on her pitches with speed and good looking change. She does quick pitch as someone stated so need to get her out of her rhythm.

They pitched the senior in game 2 that I seen and she didn't throw bad either but gave up 4 runs I think, D wasn't bad for her though. Couldn't tell with the frosh as she struck 19 of 21 out ;&

Paint valley used a bad first inning from SF to get ahead 4-1 . Coasted to a 5-3 win . Newland had 13 k I believe .. PV vs ports ND for a trip to the FF .

I had Newland with 15 K's but my stat keeping is questionable at times:confused:

Westfall won as well so that's two SVC schools in the regional finals.

Newland did have 15K's. I am a little biased but she sure didn't look like a freshman in the circle against the #1 team in the state poll. A college coach there told me he had her at 61 on his pocket radar and he thought it was usually about 2 mph under a jugs gun! Saturday should be a great game against Portsmouth ND.

It may be under jugs gun but I believe the pocket radar to be accurate to real speed so I'd say that is legit on the pocket radar. Plus I've seen her throw, although a flame thrower I don't know if she is pushing mid 60's quite yet. JMO obviously

Brecksville-Broadview Hts advances after coming back from an 11-0 deficit with 1 out in the bottom of the 5th...2 outs from being run ruled! They scored 9 in the 5th on 1 out & scored 4 more in the 6th. Hung on after HS plated another run in the 7th. Springfield had the tying run on 3rd and go-ahead on 1st when the last out was made. Brecksville ended up beating Holland Springfield 13-12.

INCREDIBLE come back! Lots of hits in the game from both teams. Bees on to regional finals against Elyria Saturday 12pm at Clyde.

Looks like a few people overlooked Grove City! Nice win over a tough gahanna team 4-0 sending us to the state finals!! We have had the offense all season and now our pitching and defense is clicking on all four cylinders. I am definitely proud of this team! Go Lady Hounds

sounds like PV made a bad bad choice to pitch to the girl who had previously homered with 2 outs and 1B open . ouch .
