Just curious, but were there other opportunities from other colleges? Or was Akron U. simply the school that Kenzie wanted to atend?

My understanding is that yes there were other opportunities....

Kenzie has two younger brothers (one of which New Channel 5 showed dancing for joy behind the CF fence when Kenzie got the hit in the championship game), both of whom are athletes and Kenzie wanted to be able to watch her brothers play as well.

Mike and Lois Conrad should be very proud as they raised an amazing young lady both on and off the field!!

That is pretty cool to see three Ohio teams in the top 50. Amazing to see one right at the top. Congratulations to all. BTW - did anyone else notice a few teams playing 40, 50, even 60 games in their HS season??

To say nothing of the fact that OSHAA puts a MUCH lower limit on the number of games that can be played.

Mike Conrad himself is a wonderful person and coach. I have spoken to him many times and he has always been extremely polite and positive. He's also very real and will tell you the truth versus what you want to hear.
I've seen him coach his girls through those 16U ups and downs and have them peaking at the appropriate times. Keystone HS owes him a lot for keeping his Tidalwaves team focused and improving so they can be successful at the next level.

Way to go Kenzie! Congratulations!
My dd trains at Leffew Fastpitch as does Kenzie. Last summer we had the opportunity to participate in twice weekly training sessions that Kenzie lead. She did an outstanding job of leading by example and motivating each girl to push themselves a little harder. Great job mom and dad, what a class act!
Also hats off to pitching coaches' Dave and Amie Leffew, first Sito and now Conrad!

Do you know what the other college opportunities were that she was considering or that were actually considering her besides Akron U? You never really said...
