Ohio Stingray Showcase Deadline Extended

Truth be told when I was really involved in Ohio I posted as "ohiorays guest' because I was so dumb I could not figure out how to join. I only got an official sign in when all the Cinc fighting started and we had to be official!!!

The Florida site just started and I spend most of my time on that one trying to extend the "Stingray Nation"!

Softball Cat, as I said, we are going to extend the deadline until next Friday since that extra time is about what our site was down. After that we will move very quickly to determine the tournament field. I would imagine that at the absolute latest that it would be done by the end of the month.

I am curious as to why all the detail on the application. No other Tournament has the detail that this application does, yet Many Tournaments have the same level of Competition. I am not saying anything bad about the Tournament, just asking a question.

Valley Storm the Stingrays is not just any other tournament. It is a TRUE invitational tournament. The teams that are accepted are done so on the basis of quality of the team and or past results. The tournament directors look to bring in the best possible talent and the best possible competition year in and year out.

In my opinon they do that, and in doing so they put on the premier tournament in the state. Some other tournaments come close but I am sure that if you talk to any of the organizations that play the top tournaments in the state they would all have the Stingrays listed as number one or number two. In fact I think that there is a thread on this very website that has just such comments.

Not when you consider 4 game minimum,well run tournament good fields, good competition, and a chance for some exposure for your girls

The tournament fee is actually $400.00. The tournament directors have each team pay the $450.00 entry fee and then during the tournament they can decide to either let the foundation keep the $50.00 towards the Speilman Breast Cancer foundation or they have the option to a refund of $50.00 at the admin tent.

In my humble opinion NOBODY should be picking up a refund check. I think that it is embarrassing how many teams actually do. This is a great cause and considering we are trying to set an example for our players there is no better way then to contribute to a worthy cause like that.

Wow, I never knew that. I thought the proceeds from the sales of concessions and other money made after expenses was what was used to pay for the Speilman Breast Cancer foundation.

lovthegame - donations to the Spielamn Fund come from a miriad of sources. The $50 is one of them. It seems each year something new is added. The first year it was concessions, the sale of glasses and the sale of the pink ribbon stickers. Hopefully corporate sponsors are the next addition!

From someone who has been in this tournament - it is an excellent tournament with incredible competition. ?The cost and the details needed for the tournament application were both fair and reasonable in my humble opinion. ?The tournament competition was strong and made the girls earn every run and every out. ?The fee was as fair as we've paid for other tournaments with less competition and a whole lot "less" in field conditions. ?If your team is looking for a challenge then this tournament is definitely one your team should hope to be invited too. ?

And believe it or not I'm not a Stingray. ? ;D
And Yes I'm hoping my team gets an Invitation! ?
