Can I rig it for softball in the state of Washington?

Also, what counts as a sport in that test?

I don't think there's a gene that tells you who is willing to work hard and dedicate themselves. If anything, this might give kids an excuse to not work since they think it's already in their blood to be good. Sounds like a research lab out to make a quick buck. A terrible thing, if you ask me.

I was never a cheerleader, but when my sister was about ?? years ago it seemed to be much more sporty. They had to know how to do all the tumbling stuff. Now cheerleaders just yell, shake their hips a little bit, and move their arms in stiff blocky movements. I have to agree with Ringer, it is not a sport anymore. JMHO

I would hate to see parents limit a childs chance to try out multiple sports, even the ones they are not genetically suited for. There will be kids who just love softball even when the DNA test says they should be the sweeper in curling.

Seems sort of silly to me to test a kid for sports ability when as they play and practice in any sport they should get better. Eventually she will tell you which sport she loves and you will know if she is able to succeed there.

Curious? To see how the Members of OFC feel about the use of DNA Testing on children to determine which sport they maybe best suited for.

Below is a link if you wish to read more about it's use.

LOL!!!---these are some clever snake oil salesmen. ;)

There will always be folks with more money than common sense, and there will always be smooth talkers/scam artists/pseudo-scientists willing to relieve them of their burdensome excess cash. :D

Ah C'mon KJBM, we just got ours back and was considering changing our dd's direction. If only she would have scored higher on the "spirit finger" gene, then we could have been out some serious bucks. :)

I know you guys are having fun with this, but believe me there are those out there that will do this and live by it. Next thing you know, we'll be cloning Jennie Finch so that Team USA can win the 2028 Olympics... that is if softball is reinstated by then! But that's a topic for another thread!

Hitter1 is right! There will be some fanatical parents out there who will bring their childs DNA Test results to the Coach stating that their "DD" should be playing in such and such position... because thats what her test results shows. I pity the future Coaches in any sports if this movement were to catch on acrossed this country.

FASTPITCH! Anything else, And you're playing to SLOW!

You sure can! All any parent has do is present the Test results to any Coach in America, insisting that your "DD" is more than qualified for that given position per her testing, and in return the "DD" may receive in turn a DNA notice from the coach. " D-aughter, N-ot, A-ccepted." LOL!:lmao:

Got the dd's DNA results back recently.

They said she should cut out the sports and concentrate on a field she showed more aptitude for---world domination (or alternately, activities director on a cruise ship).
