I gotta give props to the Wildcats coach that gave my 2 girls and myself a ride to our car in the utility vehicle. We made it just before the rain. Much appreciated!

congrats Wolfpack 14u playing up at 16u and going 3-1 before they had to call the tournament.

Is my understanding correct? Once you play up in an ASA qualifier you must also play up in that age group if you attend a national event? Not to pick out the wolpack, but must they now play 16U at either asa eastern or asa nationals?

Its my understanding that once you play up in any ASA qualifying tournament you cannot drop back down to your age group for any type of ASA national. Winning a bid has no bearing on this. This is why teams are being very careful as to what sanctioned tournament they choose to play up in, unlike in past years teams played up to prepare for nats. Now there is a fine line to walk.

ahhhhh the argument lives on.

This horse was beat to death last winter . The letter of the law is that even if you play up and don't win you possibly could be challenged at nationals , or I guess even regionals. its a dumb ____ little league type rule that needs re written. IT PROTECTS NO ONE !!! (except those older teams the good 2nd year 14u's abuse) Let the 12u and 14u's play up ! it helps them prepare for nation competition. maybe if we would quit be so anal about compeition the best players would not be leaving by the dozens to play in other states geez MD

MD,

I agree totally let them play where they want! However this affected us last year as we were looking to play up at 16U, while we were a 14U team and were told that we would then be locked in to play 16U for ASA Easterns or ASA Nationals. So be careful what you play in an ASA sanctioned event if your planning on attending Their Nat's. Play up in another sanction such as NSA or USSSA this will not affect your ASA status.

lol, Warren Jones also told a 12U team my dd was on that we still could take our Easterns birth even if we qualified ASA/USA, well guess what we qualified ASA/USA and they wouldn't let us keep our Easterns birth. So needless to say be careful......and because parents already had vacations planned we ended up not going anywhere that year!

I am sure you are all exhausted but I would love to see the final brackets/scores and winners. Can you get these posted? Thanks!

So what has become of this?

Overheard several teams at Maple Leaf wondering about results/winners etc.....consensus seemed to be that no word back from anyone at Parma other than several ASA ENQ Births for multiple teams.

Any official word would be welcomed.

I Have worked this out by adding all scores (pool play and elim braket) for and against for each team, and came up with the difference of plus or minus, and advanced them accordingly. Here are the results.

10u 1st Place OHIO ICE +40
2nd Place VALLEY EXTREME +39

12u 1st place - OHIO POWER +40
2nd Place OHIO JAGUARS +31

14u 1st Place OHIO STINGRAYS +32
2ND Place is VALLEY EXTREME +20

16u 1st Place CHAIN REACTION +20
2nd Place LAKE ERIE WAVES +16

18u 1st Place VALLEY STING +14
2nd Place CUYAHOGA ANGELS +10

Todd,

How does that work since we never got to play an elimination game? Just curious.

In the 18u division no team finished their ELIM first round games, so only pool play scores were used to advance teams through the brakets. Only Cuyahoga Angels, Ohio Emerlds - Jamiot and Willoughby Starzz did not START their 4th game so they will get a $50 refund.
