Opinion needed ...... Isn't the meaning of POOL PLAY, being assigned to a pool of teams and playing within that pool?

What reason/reasons would have just one game in the set of 3 pool play games being outside of a teams pool, when there are plenty of teams to be played within the pool? Am I missing something here ? Appreciate your thoughts.

I'm no scheduling guru, but I believe if there is an odd number of teams on one of the pools, then there are usually cross pool games to compensate for that. Just a thought.

Sorry...I should have noted that there are 5 teams in each pool.
They are equal, that is why the question. Thanks for your response.

Could be a timing thing. Like when certain fields are open, possibly they needed all the teams in a pool to play at the same time. Team 1-2 play, 3-4 play, Team 5 needs to play team 5 of a different pool. Just a thought. Some TD's try and keep same year teams matched up. 13u team plays 13u team. It should not really matter, unless there is like "super pool" teams playing like class B teams. Everyone's team has the same goal. To win in bracket play.

That's what I was thinking, who cares. To be the best you have to beat the best anyway.

The issue is an odd number of teams playing an odd number of games doesn't result in an even number (i.e. 5 teams x 3 games / 2 = 7.5 games).

Thanks SoCal_Dad. I think you are right in this instance. I was totally confused about it, until you mentioned this.
