Presley hit a very beautiful HR. None from my DD this game although she had an RBI.

Thanks for the correction - it was a thing of beauty - too bad it didn't make the paper.

Sidwell didn't pitch in the last two games. She was unable to attend the last game vs Coventry...might've made a difference in the outcome. A senior starter not in the lineup/defense certainly can make a difference....both physically and mentally. A couple of stupid errors and lack of instruction/strategy from the coaches didn't help either.....two losses that could've easily gone either way. Destro hit two doubles, one off the right center fence. Destro in the lineup is definitely an improvement to the team. She works hard and she LOVES the game. My DD plays with her on the same summer team. Great group of girls.

In the PTC Metro, it looks like this (updated) as of 5/24:

Field 13 - 0 (not playing last game with Crestwood)
Kent 10 - 4
Southeast 10- 3 (still has to play Springfield?, Ravenna?)
Norton 5 - 7 (still has to play Ravenna?, Springfield?)
Springfield 5 - 7 (still has to play Southeast?, Norton?)
Coventry 5 - 9
Crestwood 2 - 11 (not playing last game with Field)
Ravenna 1 - 12 (still has to play Norton?, Southeast?)

Rain has sure pushed things back at this point. Some teams still have a couple league games to play. At this point in time, we should be done with all league games.
Congrats to Field on wrapping up the league championship.

I really think they should do away with the back to back league games against the same team. Most leagues play 2 different league teams each week. If you have a player out for one of the games against a big rival, then maybe they are back for the second one.

I don't like that format either. Schedule games with two or three week spans between them would be better a better format.

Is PTC only one that does it this way or is that a Ohio thing???

I don't know about who else does it that way, but there are a lot of conferences who don't do it that way.

It is actually for baseball. The idea was that if a team had a stud pitcher, he couldn't pitch both games in their entirety if they were back to back due to the pitching restrictions. A pitcher can only pitch 10 innings in a 3 day period.

Baseball and softball ride the bus together, so....

I was also told it was changed for baseball pitching. I guess the baseball teams dictate what the softball teams can do.

How did Magadore do against East canton today. That should spread the county division up. Think it will come down to East Canton and Garfield for the title.

Mogadore lost 3-1, Senior pitched both games, Soph. pitched first 3 inning monday only giving up 1 run and 7k's. After pitching change East Canton scores 6 in next 3 innings. soph. was benched. I geuss i shouldn't have asked the asst. coach if we were going to practice before sectionals (we have not practiced at all since we started games and we don't do infield before games). Coach gave speech to the girls (my dd) and siad "you players that are asking about practice, our games are our practice". Girls have had no infield or out field practice. Only balls my dd has fielded with team is when they are hit to her in game.
Is this normal for high school ball? How do we handle this without my dd getting "punished?"

It is normal for a "quality" program to hold practice when there is no game. That is how a team stays sharp and works on the things that they are not doing well. Once the coaches quit, then the team will quit.

Players have ask head coach to practice and he said most of the girls don't want to,so we are not. Most if not all of girls not wanting to are the basketball players (team leaders?). As the coach calls them. As the team leaders this year have miss the bus for games and show up 30 mins late to big games (east canton) not telling coach.

Puma seems Dabomb was right in earlier post saying that Mogadore hadn't really played anybody yet. Early success could have been to scheduling.

I guess not practicing is catching in this league. DD said they are off until their league game on Monday after losing badly today.
