The 14U division had 8 teams pitching from 40ft and 9 teams pitching from 43ft. If these divisions were considered ASA-B and ASA-A respectively, it was not clearly communicated to our team/coaching staff until after the tournament was cancelled due to weather. Only two rounds of bracket games were completed today at Rumpke before rain forced the cancellation.

My understanding is that in the 14U-43 platinum bracket, the Indiana Gators were awarded 1st place place based upon their pool play results (4-0 record). The Liberty Blazers were awarded 2nd place with a 3-1 record in pool play and fewest runs allowed used as the tie breaker.

PS: Venom competed in the 14U-40 platinum bracket.

Both the 14u-40 and 14u-43 had Platinum Brackets and Gold Brackets... Venom was in the 14u-40 Platinum Bracket from 40ft.

With our overall record 4-1 we were awarded 2nd place.

Want to give kudos to the Ohio Danger 98 team that played up also had a 4-1 record and we did not play head to head, so the TD made the decision based on runs allowed. They had already secured a spot in the championship game... and we were just starting our game to decide who went to that game... that is why I had rain outs... no one leaves happy ... nothing was won on the field!!

Congrats to Lexy as well. I am confused, tho. Was it Venom Black at the Queen City showdown at Rumpke? The Lousiville team was not there, and the 7-0 score does not match any of your scores.

It was 7-0 game we played on Friday night ... it was against a Kentucy team named Lyndon Lightning.... not Louisville.

Thanks Venom 1...it was a tough hand that Mother Nature dealt to us...We really wanted to see your team in that championship game. I'm suprised that they even allowed you to start your semi final game. I guess the best efforts failed and many went home unhappy. The main thing is that our teams worked hard and did well. Best of luck to you for the rest of the season. Maybe we will see you some other time.

I'm a little confused.......
If Indy Gators & Blazers got tops in One Platinum bracket & Venom & Danger 98 got it in the 40' other.........How did I hear that the Ultimates also won a 14U Platinum championship???????

So they gave the lower championship to the undefeated team?????

it is a little confusing because it was never mentioned that Ultmates came in first in the 40' Platinum. Ultimates beat everyone in their pool to go 4-0, the only team that went 4-0 in either pool. On Sunday, Venom played 3 outs with Ultimates before they called it. Ultimates beat Danger '98 in pool play 7-3. Danger beat the Springfield Bandits 5-0 on Sunday before the rain (Bandits beat Venom 5-4 on Saturday in pool play). Since Ultimates were 4-0, they awarded them first (although they misplaced the hardware), and gave Venom 2nd based on fewest runs allowed since they and Danger 98 went 3-1 in pool play. The earlier statement about Ultimates winning the 'Gold' was wrong, they won Platinum.
