Can some on help me out here. I was at a Tounament a few weeks back and the Head coach for one team sat on bucket in front of the back stop. I found this strange as one he could easyily lose his face on a fall ball, and two, the first base coach could easily see pick up signs if so desired. ?? do NSA rules state where the coach can sit when calling pitches, or if they want to take the risk they can sit on the field

thanks :D

Re: Question on Coach being on the field during de

NSA Rule 1-18 (Definitions):

COACH: A member of the team at bat who takes his/her place in
the coach's box to direct his/her players in running the bases. Two
coaches are allowed, one positioned at 1st base and one positioned at
3rd base. One coach can have in his/her possession, a scorebook and
an indicator that shall be used for scorekeeping purposes only. A
defensive coach or manager must remain in the dugout at their
normal position.
If the manager or coach does not comply after a
warning from the umpire, he/she will be ejected from the game.

Same for ASA and high school ball. The coach must remain within the confines of the dugout.

I have seen defensive coaches outside the dugout but they cleared it with the ump first. But not up by home plate. :-?
