Rapidly changing landscape for the 95 DOB'ers

sideliner tried to follow up regarding written ASA regulations but was told there were no written regs; at least that is my understanding from what was posted here.

I have assumed that we can play in the Region 9 open qualifier if one is held in Ohio this year, as berth holders have played in that event in past years. Don't know what position Ohio ASA will take on the Region 9 closed qualifier.

We've been thinking seriously about the HoF but we aren't sure that we can swing Oklahoma, Montgomery, and some of the other long distance tourneys we are considering.

Thanks for asking about the Premier qualifiers for 2012. I've also asked the organization that held the Indianapolis qualifier whether they think they will be holding one in 2012.

The HOF tourney in Oklahoma was a great experience, good ball, history and overall well worth it... we hope to return in the next year or so...

CF girls sorta went all over

1 to Stingrays Wiley
2 to MC Hammers
2 to Lasers Black
1 or 2 to Classics
1 to Buckeye Heat (not CGS)
2 to Swarm

2 still trying out

Just means that I will have even more games to watch when at the fields. Bad enough all the Laser Silver girls I keep up with

Good luck to all of those girls. They came from very good teams. My dd was one of them and tryouts are stressful. But she found a new home. :)

Heard that some of the non-Keystone HS 94 Tidalwave girls ended up with the 18U Outlaws.

Been searching for a 2nd year 16u college exposure type team for a good friend of mine and can't believe the large changes in the scenery . No more Doom 95. No more Championship Fastpitch, not many openings (if any ) with the other top clubs. where are all these kids landing ? going to 18u clubs ? getting mixed in with 96 DOB teams ? Maybe we will find out after tryouts .... This player was looking for team in Southern/Central ohio . MD

I know where this one landed along with 1 Doomer, 1 CF, and 1 Buckeye Heat

it is fun to watch the lasers black travel and play premier. how many will still be wanting to do this in two or three years? Slammers had 10 or 11 kids playing like this. they were traveling far and playing up.

it takes a toll on parents and kids at some point.

when are the bandits tryouts anyway?

Try-outs? That is funny. It's more like someone tells Conroy about a phenom and Conroy calls said Phenom for personal try-out and it goes from there.

Wolfman,

Yes. Things are great these days. Move back to Chi-Town was a vary joyful homecoming for all of us. However, we did fall in love with so many things in O-H-I-O that we now miss.

It's nice to not have to travel 2-4-6 hours to play highly competetive field of teams, although driving 45 minutes here does turn into 2hrs often.(LOL) I forgot how bad the traffic is here.

Kids are all doing well in school and adjusted and have landed on some really nice teams too.

We've been lucky enough to host some of our OFC brothers when they come out for Sparks or Hawks showcases, so if you guys are ever heading out for those , drop me a line as the BBQ and Cooler will be ready. : )

An extremely important element to help your daughter get noticed is to attend one of the NFCA camps. Three of our girls attended and all have received interest and invites to look at schools they had not considered before that camp. Two have signed and one is still waiting to hear from her first choice. They were all very good about contacting schools in advance beginning in their sophomore year, following up etc. yet it was surprising how many schools "just came out of nowhere" particularly from Pa and In. Use all the tools available to you.
