This is WRONG! At least make an attempt. The 14's should take priority. >:(

I am from Stow and can pretty much guarantee that the city would have let boys play baseball at Silver Springs this weekend. Supposedly, they wouldn't let the girls use those fields because they are "soft" right now. The reality is that they consider Silver Springs to be a baseball complex and did not want the girls to mess up their precious fields. My nephew has never had a baseball game cancelled there a day in advance. They play unless the fields are muddy at GAME TIME or it is a downpour at GAME TIME. The double standard with boys vs. girls in Stow is huge. I don't think the Tournament Director had a chance.

This is one time I will "stick up" for a steelers fan ;) but even moreso for the girls. I have seen double standards all over the place in my time and it does exists. I can only say and it makes me sick. The TD needs to look for another venue for next year (even multiple venues). Whoever is in charge of the facilities needs everyone to send him an email him and let him know that he cheated the girls out of maybe 1/10th of their season and that they do not appreciate the double standards. It is TIME for everyone to let their voices be heard and OFC has a lot of voices. If you want to post an email address to the appropriate person, I will be the first to fire off an email.

I am a parent that has a DD playing for the organization holding this tournament. I also was there helping out with the fields on Friday. All the fields were in poor shape, the High School said we couldnt use their fields on Friday and the parks department were working on Silver Springs friday trying to make them playable. When the city called and said no games would be played @ Silver Springs the TD had to make a decision. We did not have enough fields to accomadate all the teams in the 12U and 14U, but we did have enough for the 10U and the 12U. Unfortunately a decision had to be made. Your right steelers fan we did not have a chance!!

It also make sense to cancel 14u over the other teams because the outfields were muddy. More of the older girls can hit the ball farther than the younger ones. I know there are 12's who can hit i'm just saying more of the older girls hit better. Walking through the fields made a mess of my shoes. I can't imagine running after a long ball in deep center. Tough position to be in for this tourney, wouldn't want to be in the td position. My daughter is mad that they canceled it today for everyone but the fields just couldn't hold any more rain.

Lets pray for better weather next weekend

Was told by people who live in Stow that boys played at Silver Springs on Saturday. What gives? Fields unplayable but boys play? How did the boys even get the fields if they were supposed to be for girls tourney? Doesn't make sense.
