I would rather they canceled the tourney and I get all of my money back, than sit around all day Saturday just to play 2 1 hour games and then have it decided by a coin toss. ( and that is certainly not a dig at how other tourneys have handled the spring rain). I know for a fact, their main venue is swamped. It is a city park that requires city workers to clean. Even if they worked all night and got it ready, the ground is saturated and any more rain, even a little bit, would have simply trashed the fields again. (take a look at the weather report) One of their secondary venues is Stow High School, and with the HS tourney delayed from rain they probably don't have that available. There are a lot more 14s than 10s. Maybe canceling the 10s didn't open up enough time to get the tourney in. I'm not affiliated with this tourney or the host team, I'm simply saying there are a lot of people here complaining and offering simplistic solutions to what could be a complex problem. It was probably apparent to the directors that someone was going to get the short end of the stick, they made a decision and it ended up being the 14s. It stinks for us, but nothing to whine about.
