I am wondering what the criteria is for crediting a win to a pitcher. I read the new change for NFHS which was something like the starting pitcher has to pitch at least half the innings that she is in the game, but I don't know all the other stuff.
Game situation is - Starting pitcher leaves game (completely) after 2 innings, score is 15 - 0 (we're ahead). Second pitcher pitches 3 innings (in game all 5 innings), score is 20 - 2, I have no idea if the runs are against her - I think at least one went in on an error possibly both. Who is credited the win?
I think this is one of the most complicated things about softball! LOL
This is not a big deal, just wondering, it was DDs first HS/Varsity game and was wondering if she can say she got her first win too. We were just thrilled that she got to pitch, wasn't expecting it. Basically got way ahead earlier so he let her pitch. She did pretty darn good though!
