Is this a little much or just tournament ball. Should the coach "call off the dogs" or let them play in the tournament. That brings me to another point. Should every team make the tournament? Not every team makes it for football. Why have teams in the tournament that can not compete. Make the regular season mean something.

It is a little ridiculous. Most good teams know how to call the dogs off and keep the score reasonable. We all know that they can score 20 or 30 runs with little difficulty. Once the game is in hand it is not going to change. Embarassing the other team like that is why some schools just decide to forfiet like the team did against Fairmont. Could you imagine what kind of score they would have put up against Meadowdale. They might still be running the bases and adding to the stats.

Winners outscored the losers 159-20. If you take out the 4 games that were competitive it's even more lopsided at 134-1; the 4 competitive games being 25 - 19. Based on records, I would gather that the biggest upset was Bishop Watterson over Westland.

I did some predictions last week with an empty bracket. I got all the games correct except for the 4 close ones. Kinda like my NCAA basketball picks . The second round games are going to be more challenging to predict and I'm sure we'll see some upsets.

We led going into the bottom of the 1st, but it was all down hill after that. ;&
Childers pitched exceptionally, and did it with the bat as well. Great team in Johnstown.
Hats off to my soph. SS Jordan Hykes going 2-3 off Childers and scoring our only run on a double by sr. Jess Beekman.

Childers is the real deal. I've never understood why Johnstown didn't build its team around her during her high school career. She's off to play for Division I but you'd never know it from the way Johnstown treated her.

Buckeye Heat loves this kid and wishes her and the Stingrays 18U all the best as she FINALLY plays her age group. She was a big part of the success of JoeA's 16U and 18U team in the Buckeye Heat organization. And you couldn't ask for a better, more supportive family.

Shayne, sorry to see Northmor's season come to an end, but I hope your players and parents understand what an asset they have in their coach.
