Good luck - this post was a topic of conversation at our game today. I feel lucky that we've played 3 games so far.

I feel lucky that we have got 7 games in now. If you add up the temperature of all those days together you will get a nice sunny day in Florida......:)

just got home after getting back from the HS field, dug small holes in the standing water and dipped it off. Hopefully that will allow dragging in the am and playing in the pm. MD

Two words...Shop-vac! Unless you've got no juice.

Ha ha - wish it HAD rained tonight! We played Southeast - Shockwave's daughter did a great job!! It was a lot of fun watching us lose.... in a way...

Anyway - the field looked great - if the rain stays away we could be in for a great week of softball!

Way to keep it classy - lol

I'm not interested in hearing about all of Ohio's weather problems! Unless we win our conference tournament this weekend, our season is over on Saturday and we haven't played a single game with a temperature over 55. And of our home dates, we have had only two where we didn't have to take 2-3 hours to prepare our field because of rain.

Just for seven home dates, we have spent about $2,500 in Quick Dry or Pro League Red Infield Conditioner, both Turface products. We use Quick Dry on our warning track or foul line areas and a mix of Quick Dry and Pro League Red in the infield. The Pro League Red is a little more expensive, but it is great for the infield and we like to add a certain amount each year no matter what. Our players are well-schooled in raking and working in those materials. Without their help we wouldn't be able to prepare our field on those days.

Kalafatis or Larabees job could be coming up soon....lol

With all of the new experience Joe has picked up playing in cold and wet weather, and prepping fields, that has to be a plus! Joe, I know one high school up here which has gotten in one game so far ... and we're 3 1/2 weeks into the season. Most I know of up here in the far northeastern corner of the state have played about 5, with not much end in sight in the weather forecast.

We had 2 days last week when the weather was good, but our team could not play. One was due to a scheduling conflict with a league opponent and the other was due to our team not having enough players available (Varsity only program) for a non-league make-up game.

We lost another game last night due to weather and it looks like the Varsity may be missing out on the Thunder in the Valley with the possible system building up down there.

I just looked at the 10 day and I do not see how a single game is going ot be played over that time.

We need a couple of days to dry out.

Is there an exception where games can be played at an indoor field house with modified rules? I would think the continuing issue with the weather would warrant it (ps, the same fight to get games in is going on in Indiana!)

Do you have pay to participate at your school? What are the schools doing where the cost is in the hundreds of dollars and they've played under 8 games?

It's kind of odd to see some teams have played just four games. Our season (college) is now over. We played 40 games, only the final three of them in temperatures above 55.
