Buckeye Heat 95 loses to Tidal Waves 7-2. Got our butts kicked. I think that 9 out of 10 times Tidal Waves would beat us, but we didn't make it much of a contest in terms of our play, which was our B- game at best. Good luck to the Tidal Waves.

I would like to send out a thanks to the Ohio Wolfpack coaching staff. Had one of our players get hurt and they treated her as if she was one of their own. Class act all the way. Thanks again from the OFC Blast 95.

Buckeye Heat 95 goes 5-2 for the tournament. Wins today over Ashland Blaze Gentry and Maddogs. For both of those wins, Buckeye Heat 95 went into the bottom of the 7th trailing. Lost to Ohio Ice Black 5-4. It was an odd game, as going into the 6th neither team had scored (though both teams had a fair number of hits; there was some good defense being played). Ohio Ice puts up 5 in the top of the 6th, Heat 95 scored two in the bottom of the 6th and then 2 in the 7th. Had the tying run in scoring position but couldn't get her across the plate.

Congrats to the Ohio Ice. When we left, HoH Explosion was playing the Outlaws in the Loser's Bracket and Ohio Ice was awaiting the winner of that game. Tidal Waves and Sapphires were getting ready to play the Winner's Bracket finals.

Slight correction.....Ohio Ice was waiting to play HoH-Outlaws winner. HoH Explosion won that game so final 4 teams were HoH, Ohio Ice, Tidalwaves, and Saphires

Tidalwaves over Sapphires 5-1 in Winners Bracket final.

HoO Explosion over Sapphires 8-0 in Losers Bracket final.

Tidalwaves and HoO Explosion in the final .... with HoH needing to beat Tidalwaves twice.

Our team had a nice run this weekend, but the two most deserving teams made it to the finals ... both teams are VERY solid. Tidalwaves pitching and speed (plus some power) is scary, and HoO Explosion can hit & field with anybody ..... two very good teams.

Congrats to all, in a very competitive tournament.

HOO Explosion has had an extremely strong tournament, with wins over Classics Black and Buckeye Heat 94 in the Winners Bracket and wins over the Outlaws and Sapphires in the Losers Bracket. They also had some nice results last weekend at Dayton Metro. This team will be on my list of top ten teams for this week's poll, for sure.

Hope someone posts the final game(s) results yet this evening.

I saw that catch! It was huge at that point in the game, in addition to being a great play. Your Outlaws team is VERY good also, especially for a younger 15u ... you guys have a bright future.

I agree, I was VERY impressed with them. Even in our win against them earlier in the day, I still felt like they were one of the best there .... I would like to forget about their RF, I think she took about 4 hits away from us over our 2 games on throws to first.

Both Tidalwaves and Explosion moved way up my list after this weeknd ... and a few others really got my attention.

Played both of these teams this weekend. HoH is flat out impressive: hitting and defense. Tidal Waves are very impressive and just keep putting pressure on you the whole game. Feel a little better about our games with these two teams this weekend, well maybe our Tidal Waves game since HOH really put one on us.

Great weekend and so proud of our team! Long Sunday that started with a loss to the Sapphires, then wins over Outlaws, Ohio Ice, Sapphires, and Tidalwaves before coming up short in the if necessary game 4-3...after all that we'd love another inning or two!

Still a phenominal day, and tournament! You deserve a bid, too bad just one available at Shreve. Quite a roll you got on with your backs against the wall, after the nailbiter with the Sapphires earler in the day. To roll through the teams that you did, and take one off the Tidalwaves, and come so close in the "if" game is impressive!

.... at least our losses were to the finalists, even though it still stings.

Congrats to the Tidalwaves ... ticket punched .....

So, "IN" for USA/ASA in Chattanooga now:

Tidalwaves (Shreve this weekend)
MC Madness Black (2010 ASA Eastern)
Lasers Scarlet (Dayton Qualifier last week)
