No, but Der Dutch Essenhaus is a good place to eat in Shreve. Along with Coccia House in Wooster (opens at 5).

Ah Stattie, you are going to have one of the more memorable Ohio fastpitch experiences . . .is this for the open national qualifier? Because it is such a kick to see the teams from other states react to the field that is squeezed into the setting and the fact that there is like one stop light in town. Shreve knows how to put on a tournament, however, and you can expect a good turnout of spectators from the town.

16u Buckeye Heat-Toledo received their email with pool play schedules yesterday....some very tough teams battling it out for the 1 remaining ASA National Bid. Our pool play games begin at 3:00pm on Friday, with second pool play game at 4:30pm. 18 teams in 16u division. If you are a 16u team tell me your team name and I can give you your pool times/opponents.

Statman: According to the schedule we received, you play at 12pm on Field 1 Friday against the Ashland Blaze-Black...if you win, you play at 1:30pm against the winner of the Lady Stock Pack vs. Mid Ohio Thunder, same field. If you lose, you move to Field #2 at 1:30pm against the loser of the game just mentioned.

Bracket play begins at 8am Saturday. Good luck.

the one field is kind of small and parking is very limited. plus if you miss the turn to the field, go down the road and turn a round, you are not allowed to back up on the road. it's classified as a highway.

i got a warning two years ago for this.

I grew up outside of Shreve in the country and my parents still live there today. If you miss the field keep going and turn at the Elementary school, it will loop you back around to the fields. If you miss the school turn left at the church by the school and you can park there or make another left to circle around the school to the fields.

Also the Pizza Parlor in Shreve has good pizza and a really good sub called the Parlor sub. Other than that it is either amish cooking or a dairy bar. Not a whole lot in a one stop light town, good luck to all of the teams playing this weekend. If you get a chance stop at the Shreve library and tell my mom (Nancy) hi. :)

We are in Pittsburgh PA this weekend for a tourney or else my DD and I would be there watching all of the action.

Good luck!

Can't we just ask your mother to cook dinner for us all? LOL. Good luck in Pa this weekend.

So it looks like no teams from outside the state? That's kind of unusual. We have one team coming in from San Diego for the 14U qualifier.

^^^ any idea on the organization of the team from San Diego? I may have to swing bye and see if anyone is from the Escondido area. :)

I put my vote in for Matsos Greek restaurant in Wooster. Fantatsoc greek food, and excellent pizza as well. AND, ask for the dessert tray.
