Congrats to Tidal Waves on the berth and to HOO Explosion on a great tournament. Good thing there were lights on the Shreve field!

To all the teams: we brought several of our 8u girls to the tournament over the course of the weekend and we really appreciate everyone making it a great experience for each of them! Several parents & players stopped the girls along the way, encouraged them to keep up the hard work and offered suggestions. Not only did the girls get to see some pretty great softball - but they met some impressive people along the way as well. From the Dirt Dawgs: Good luck to all of you and hope to see you along the trail again this summer!

well you guys hit the **** out of the ball against us. great hitting team.....it was pleasure playing you guys on saturday.

Our best goes out to your injured player. One of our coaches told me she broke her arm/wrist in three places. We hope she recovers quickly.

We enjoyed playing you as well. Thanks for the kind words. Good luck this summer.

Great weekend and so proud of our team! Long Sunday that started with a loss to the Sapphires, then wins over Outlaws, Ohio Ice, Sapphires, and Tidalwaves before coming up short in the if necessary game 4-3...after all that we'd love another inning or two!

Great job by the coaches and players of the Heart of Ohio Explosion, as well as their hitting / pitching instructor. The girls worked hard the week leading up to this tournament -- their endurance and focus helped get them to the championship game. Six game tournament days can be brutal but the team showed they have what it takes to play softball at the highest level.

I saw that catch! It was huge at that point in the game, in addition to being a great play. Your Outlaws team is VERY good also, especially for a younger 15u ... you guys have a bright future.

Pickledad - Thanks for the nice words and for your support over the weekend. We knew we were like a sapling in some tall trees late on Sunday.

HoH is the real deal. We did not know anything about them but boy can they hit the ball and diffuse an inning on defense. After losses to you (Sapphires) in the winners bracket, the loss to HoH, a loss to Ice Black in pool, and sticking around to watch Tidal Waves our players have a better understanding of what top shelf teams look like and where we want to be by the end of the summer. We know there are other very good teams but we did not get to see them play.

We also got some good looks at the Buckeye Heat teams ('94 and McGhee) , Vipers, and a VERY hot Medina Heat team.

Congratulations to all of the players and coaches. We know how much hard work you put into your teams.

Yes, the Sidels and their staff did a great job. At least at the Shreve fields, where we played, the fields were dragged and lined, trash was picked up, scores were posted from the different sites, and the experience was thoroughly positive. We were lucky to not have one of those Saturday night games that went really late, but so far I haven't seen or heard any complaints about that.

It was a nice surprise that the tourney went to full sevens and we did not have to worry about clock management.

We lost to the Outlaws 1-0 in one of the best games I have watched. What a battle, I just wished the dd had made that jumping catching in CF, one play away from going to international Good luck outlaws in the future , you played with class.

That play was amazing. I thought she had no chance watching from the third base coach's box and my heart sank to think she was going to make that catch. It was an awesome effort from what appeared to me to be an amazing athlete.

Thank you on your future wishes and we wish you luck as well. We were amazed as well by your class and composure. We hope to run into you again.

Congrats Buckeye Heat 95

to lose only to the Champs Tidalwaves and a 5-4 game to Ohio Ice was quite an accomplishment by this young 95 team and finish 5th!
