Top-seeded Marymount California scored early and often to run away from Simpson with a 5-inning, 10-1 win in the second round of the California Pacific Conference Softball Championship in Redding, Calif. The Mariners powered their way past the Red Hawks, forcing SU into an elimination game against #4 La Sierra. The Red Hawks, now 34-14, need to bounce right back against the Golden Eagles if they want to build on their streak of eight consecutive trips to the NAIA National Tournament.
