SPRINGFIELD, MO – The top ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (58-3, 36-0 SAC) and No. 5 Lindsey Wilson College(52-5, 21-1 MSC) battled hard in the elimination game at the NAIA Softball World Series. The Drovers scored a pair of runs in the third inning, and that was all they would need as they dropped the Blue Raiders 2-0 to stay alive in the tournament.

USAO's 58th win of the season breaks the program record for wins in a single-season, which was set last year when the squad won the NAIA National Championship.

The Drovers struck first, scoring a pair of runs off of a Kristen Prieto (JR/Moore, OK) double in the bottom of the third inning. The score remained 2-0 until the final out of the game was recorded.

Emily Cerny (SO/Newcastle, OK) pitched well in the circle, going all seven innings, allowing just 1 hit and zero runs as she struck out five batters. The SAC Pitcher of the Year is now 29-3 with a 0.61 earned run average and she has struck out 276 batters through 196 innings pitched so far this season.

Kristen Prieto was the offensive hero for the Drovers, going 1-for-3 with a two-RBI double. Destinie Lookout (SR/Oklahoma City, OK) finished the game 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base. Dakota Clouse (SR/Blanchard, OK) also tallied a hit, concluding the win 1-for-3 with a single. Emily Cerny and Keely Kingsley (SR/Oklahoma City, OK) each went 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored.

The Drovers will now prepare to face No. 8 Georgia Gwinnett College on Tuesday, May 28 at 12 PM CT in Springfield, MO.
