The Southern Ohio NSA is looking for good people to join our team.

NSA has split the state of Ohio in half and the Southerh Ohio NSA starts at Rt 30 and go straight across the state and goes south to the Ohio border.

We are looking for:

**Tournament Directors**
**Umpires**
**Potential Administraitors**
**Complexes to host at**

There are some exciting opportunities to get in on the ground floor during our rebuild of the Southern Ohio NSA Fast-Pitch program. Some of the items on the agenda for the Southern Ohio NSA are:

**Separate North and South B states on different weekends**
**Alternating A states between North and South**
**Competitive schedule options**
**More chances to qualify for Worlds**
**Updated web sites both state and nationally**
**NSA has redesigned there season to start over again on September 1 and extend thru August 31** No more sanctioning for fall only and then paying a second fee again after Jan 1.
**Southern Ohio NSA is also hosting a couple of scholarship events.** These will be notated on the schedule and are random draws amongst the entered teams.

I realize that many folks will wish to be discreet with their intentions, so please feel free to contact me via PM, e-mail, or phone call. My information is listed below. Also feel free to go in and browse our website. I am working with my web developer to have a separate home page for slow-pitch and also for fast pitch information. This should be complete before December 15 which is the tentative date for our 2011 schedule to be online.

Thanks for your time,

Mike Craig

Get ahold of the people at Goshen. By far the best softball fields in southern Ohio and their grounds crew is great as well.

Are they nicer than Expressway Park? I think Bobby Owens has a fantastic facility down there in Milford.

Expressway Park is nice but one major drawback is that there is no warm-up space for teams unless you are the first game of the day. They also have gate fees but the parents seem to like being able to buy beer there.

Goshen doesn't have that problem regarding warm-up space. No gate fees when we were there but also no beer. :D

Personally as a coach I really try to avoid facilities where there is no space to warm up. Perry Field in Norwich (near Zanesville) is also a problem IMO.

But Goshen like Tealtown cannot take any water at all. Any rain at all, forget it. Expressway handles rain very well. May be tight for warming up but at least you play. Expressway is looking into temp fences I believe. If they get those there will be plenty of warm up room.

I have to disagree with the any rain at all, forget it for Goshen. Last June at the Doom Spring Madness there was a torrential downpour and they had the fields up and going an hour and a half after the rain started. They have proved themselves multiple times...

Disagree with you about Goshen Musty, while not nearly as good as Expressway, the fields handle water pretty well. Difference may be in the grounds crew at Goshen, those folks are top notch!

As for warmup space at Expressway, if they put the temp fences up you are in good shape, unfortunately they don't always do that.

That's wrong and you know it Musty.

Goshen can take all the rain mother nature throws at it.

Look at the monsoons that the Doom Madness got in their event and 1 1/2 hrs later they were up and running.

Look at the Laser Fall event in October of 2009 and the rain it got on Thursday and into Friday and games started on time on Saturday at 9 am even with a 31 degree Friday night and only used three bags of field dry.

Musty, I don't know why you have been testy with me lately.. and personally I could care less about your reasoning...

But, to come on the OFC and absolutely LIE about Goshen facility is absolutely wrong in so many ways.

The Goshen people have a wonderful facility and the hardest working grounds crew around. They have waited to be recognized on the fastpitch circuit as teams have a hard time going to "new" facilities until they are tested and true.

Goshen has earned that right with their fields.

Attack me all you want as I could care less personally. But, don't come on here and quote a BOLDFACE LIE on the Goshen Facility. As was said in another thread... this is the best park in southern Ohio and second to none when it comes to playing in adverse weather conditions. Second to none.

having experienced the huge rain at Goshen and being part of the ground crew I'd have to say Goshen can handle ton's of rain. assuming the guys that run the equipment are available. Goshen is really good. Can get tight on the parking but other than that (how many fields have 200 ft fences ?) it's top notch . MD

By the way, thanks and I am sure the Goshen people appreciate your comments.

Musty must have been thinking Wilmington instead of Goshen when it came to his comment about not being able to take rain. ;) $1200.00 dollars in a helicopter and $1700.00 in diamond dry in Wilmington VERSUS three bags of Diamond Dry for Goshen

Tell me where a TD wants to have their event

Goshen is looking for any org wishing to come into Goshen in April and May and have their org event.

Feel free to contact me so I can get you in touch with the Goshen people.

You can't go wrong with Goshen.

How vain Quaker Flake, always about you. Sorry but it's not. The middle school uses those fields and they cancel their games at the littlest of rain. We have practiced and played on those fields and they do not drain. I compared them to Expressway. You trying to say they are just as good? Not only can't you umpire or run a tournament you can't evaluate fields. You should you have been run off enough.

Goshen is cutting out a tree line to add additional parking for the 2011 season in the back parking lot.

The middle school cancelled their games BECAUSE the middle school coach is too lazy to come work the fields during the day... The Goshen people gave them the fields to use but don't have the time during their work day as individuals volunteers to prep the fields as they are working their normal jobs.

It's not about me Musty. You're just an idiot and think so.

But, to come on here and lie about Goshen.. well it's unexcusable in my book.

Obviously, to everyone on the OFC, you are using me to attack the Goshen people.

You read the only part you need to. LOL

Not attacking the Goshen people. They must be doing great if they are making those fields playable after a rain but that just started this summer. It wasn't that way this spring or years past because the school games would get canceled with just a little rain. Years past when we practiced there the fields did not drain at all. If they fixed that great.

I am not sure why not. We have never been at Goshen in the past for them to have any issues with us. Let me know of something we had done wrong to Goshen and I will contact their staff to correct.

And as for NSA coming into Goshen ... forget it.

Also guys, please keep this civil. This was just a posting to see if we can recruit some good people, not a chance to watch a flame war between two people.

Thanks much!
