I am not sure why not. We have never been at Goshen in the past for them to have any issues with us. Let me know of something we had done wrong to Goshen and I will contact their staff to correct.

Contact them Mike, the fields and people there are both great. I am pretty sure Expressway is USSSA. I would love to see Goshen and the NSA work something out.

I don't think it matters where you have a tournament, if it is understaffed you will not be able to get the fields ready. Been through that and it was ugly. We are only looking at certain affiliations now for tournaments, and NSA is not one of them. Enough said.

If NSA goes to Goshen give them a chance. The crews there are top notch. Granted the Doom parents helped them but they did get the fields ready in 1.5 hours after a monsoon and only 1 game out of the whole tournment was not played.

BTW I am in no way affilated with the fields at Goshen. I grew up out that way and played some little league there and my dd played there when she played REC. I know there are alot of good players east of Cincinnati that would benefit from being exposed to some good ball being played there.

I heard a great job was done at the Doom tourney to get the fields playable. No surprise the Doom did it right, they do most everything right. Now give me enough manpower, materials and equipment and I could make great fields in the middle of a lake. The Goshen middle school uses those fields and just this spring the game against Nagel MS was canceled because it rained the day BEFORE. Nagel practiced at home instead on their typical school field under a sunny sky. I have practiced there with a travel team and had times where we couldn't but could at another field that drained better.

Now N$A held their state tourney at Tealtown which has similar fields to Goshen. The tourney was washed out while a short distance away at Expressway the games were as scheduled. Problem was N$A had no manpower or equipment to work the fields. They way the do things they couldn't handle Goshen if it had any rain at all.

Now thing may be different at Goshen now. Maybe this summer they did a lot of work to the fields and have the materials and manpower to make the fields playable. Don't know, I haven't been down their this year. Would love to see it as it is very close to my home. My observation stated in my earlier post was of the fields from this past spring and beyond. Never was against any Goshenian.

Maybe N$A has changed and will plan better and treat teams a whole lot better. I wonder why those that want N$A to get re-established want them too. Are teams unhappy with ASA and USSSA? USFA? I'm with MC Hammers but I go where our coach says.

Agreed and ASA is doing that. Why N$A? Why not more ASA? Just wondering. Or are you thinking lets just have more games at Goshen?

Once again, I was not affiliated with the Tealtown tournament. That is in the past and it is time for some of you folks to move on. MCHammers, I told you what happened at the second site this year. We can only rent a facility, not maintain it if an organization like the Pickerington North girls softball program charges us a fee to do the maintainence and then does not come thru on there end. I learned a valuable lesson out there that weekend.

Again, just looking for good people and tournaments that might want to join up with us. Not start the usual flame war that some folks like to start up when they see the words NSA.

Mr Craig, we have moved on, to ASA, USSSA and others. If you want to bring NSA back to life try putting a marketing hat on and stop telling us to move on. Thats insulting. You may have not been around for Tealtown but what has changed with NSA? Why should we think that what happened at Tealtown couldn't happen again? Why should someone put on an NSA sanctioned event and why should teams attend? Why is NSA better than ASA or USSSA? As far as we know it's the same old NSA with a new contact name. Address these and maybe it will move things on. JMHO

You could have offered money back to the 14U's that only got two games in when they were GUARANTEED 4. If you would have done that, there would be no conversation on here. You, along with the NSA national office, will never collect another dollar from anyone associated with our organization. We got ripped off and no one did anything to make it right. Someone made off with a lot of money for nothing that weekend, while we got the shaft.

From our experience, it hasn't changed one bit. They were all about making money and not treating people right.

About 15 years ago, I bought a new set of Goodyear tires. 5 days later, I was on a country road and came over a hill and a lady backed out in front of me. I had to lock up the brakes to avoid hitting her. My new front tires wore down to the metal tread. I told GoodYear what happened and they never honored the guarantee. I wrote to the National headquarters and everything. Nothing! I pledged to never buy Goodyear tires again and I swore I'd pass on this story so others wouldn't buy their product either.

Same goes with NSA. I felt robbed and we couldn't do anything about it. You give someone money with the hopes that you will be treated fairly, and when it doesn't happen, well, it irriates me to say the least. There is something nice about people doing the right thing.

When you put on a tournament, it is your name that is on the line, whether you feel you are responsible or not. No one could help the rain, but when we signed on to play in your tournament, Mike, we were guaranteed 4 games and never got it, but the other age groups did get them in. How was that fair to the 14's? The site was understaffed and not one 14 U team was at fault for that. You pass the blame on to the Pickerington HS people, but you took the money and were ultimately the one responsible.

Good luck finding GOOD people to help NSA out. It would be nice to just have an honest one. $$$$$

This thread was to find people interested in partnering or joining the NSA. This was not a thread to stir up Tealtown (which certain folks cant resist doing) or throw stones. If you have no interest in the NSA, then resist the temptation to respond to any postings that have the letters NSA in them. Both of you have stated you will not play NSA again and that is your right. Good luck in the future whatever your group or others decide to do.

Since several people have responded via PM or e-mail so there is interest much to some peoples dismay. The folks who want to know are taking the proper route and have been responded to.

Thanks for taking the time folks to respond or e-mail. Keep them coming! mcraig@playnsaohio.com or 614-895-2253

This isn't about Teatown, but the tourney you held last June in Pickerington. Dismiss it all you want, but I want to inform people so they know what kind of people they are dealing with if they are looking at joining on with NSA.

You constant denying any wrongdoing almost puts me on a mission. You've said you learned a "valuable lesson". What lesson would that be?

By the way, thanks and I am sure the Goshen people appreciate your comments.

Musty must have been thinking Wilmington instead of Goshen when it came to his comment about not being able to take rain. ;) $1200.00 dollars in a helicopter and $1700.00 in diamond dry in Wilmington VERSUS three bags of Diamond Dry for Goshen

Tell me where a TD wants to have their event

Goshen is looking for any org wishing to come into Goshen in April and May and have their org event.

Feel free to contact me so I can get you in touch with the Goshen people.

You can't go wrong with Goshen.

Seriously, still bragging about the helicopter (that left no proof of being there). Been @ both and they are both good sites. NSA would be lucky at either.

Ask Derek Jacobs of the Hawks who was sleeping in the camper when the helicopter came flying in at 1:15 am.

I made a statement that Wilmington cannot even come close to being Goshen when it comes to the quality of the diamonds or the opportunity of good drainage... thus affording the parents and teams who pay to play to know about the fields that they do play on and whether they can get back up and running quickly.. thus giving the teams an opportunity to play.

I love my city.. but the ballfields S U C K for drainage and need some dirt as well ;) . Maybe one day they will figure that out and promote their park.

Mike, it has nothing to do with you or anything.

It has to do with the park being name associated with NSA. They don't want to be the next Tealtown because of carrying an NSA tournament.

But, I don't see any TD running a NSA event in Southern Ohio. There are NO NSA umpires south of Columbus, Ohio and then the fees are just crazy anymore to have a NSA event. A then a motel for umpires because they are indeed from out of town and then the UIC fee as well....

Add it up ... would it be worth it as a TD to stick their head out of the crowd and run an NSA event ?

Good luck with your adventure, Mike. It is a long row to hoe to get back the NSA name in Ohio.

Hey remember those nice fields you remarked about at Martens Park in Lancaster? It's all NSA dude - 30 minutes south of Cols. LGSA always puts on well run events there. Makes me wonder about another recent thread......

Musty, Goshen played the Lasers event in Fall of 2009 under adverse weather conditions and teams from Louisville and Indianapolis was pleasantly surprised we was even playing.

Your middle school ball game was in the Spring of 2010. The ball fields was redone in the Fall of 2009 and just dirt added was all. I know because I bought a load of dirt for $515.00 dollars.

The middle school game .... I was going to go watch myself and couldn't figure out why they weren't playing. But, I found out later it was about the middle school coach not wanting to take the time to work the diamonds as no one else was available to help because of their day job.

It wasn't played because of the laziness of the coach and NOT the diamonds themselves.

The diamonds for the Lasers event was taken care of by the Goshen people and myself that Friday after the rain quit. The Lasers parents ( 10 or so ) helped pump water out of two outfields on Saturday morning when they showed up. That's how much rain we got that Thursday into Friday around 12 Noon.

Expressway Park is the best draining diamonds in SW Ohio and Goshen is second. After them.. there is no contest with the others in SW Ohio.

Well I will be back at Goshen next summer as the new team plans on playing Doom tourney. I will get to see the fields first hand. DD now at Turpin HS. Not sure if they play Goshen HS and if so where Goshen fields are.

I don't see why anyone wants another sanctioning body in SW Ohio. Who isn't playing ASA and USSSA now? I have and I'm Happy enough with them. Does anyone see something better at NSA that I'm not?
