High School fields are behind the middle school and right of the football stadium off Goshen Road.. Goshen built a new HS across the street.

HS fields are very new actually. When we, the taxpayers, paid for the artificial turf on the football fields, we also paid for a baseball and softball diamond and new tennis courts and parking lots.

I do know the HS fields were dry that day, Musty. I thought maybe the game got moved there that day and went there myself.

Goshen's drainage is so new. You can see the "new" huge pipes sticking out of the ground between fields in the quads. There is more pipe to be laid in the little parking lot.

They are cutting trees to make the little parking lot into an L-shaped bigger parking lot. ( I think the volunteers burn wood in the winter...LOL).

I know with my discussion on Sunday night with the Goshen reps... that higher fences around dugout area and maybe finding local businesses who might buy a dugout package for covered dugouts was spoken about that evening.

I do know that after the last payment on those acres behind them is paid in November, 2010... then I know the avenue they are trying to use to build 10 more diamonds there at Goshen in the near future with limited amount of cash. They are a very smart board at Heisler Park and they will get it done in due time.

They run on bingo, concessions and just recently ... ballfield rentals to orgs to run a tournament.

It's new to them this fastpitch and what teams are looking for in tournament locations ... as they was a local rec league park with volunteers. And still are a rec league park..now with interest from the fastpitch community as well. Lasers and Doomers put them on the map of a place to come play an event. The safety bases.. the teams bought last year when they played in a tournament to raise money for them. There is a couple more fields to buy for yet.

I think what I like most about the park... is the people there that volunteer there as they want to play ball as bad as I do for the kids, whether rec baseball or travel ball softball. They know as a parent of a player how much time and money is spent to go to tournaments and they want to make the best effort possible to play the games and for the parents to feel their money was well spent to come to Goshen in tournament season.

I think they do an exceptional job at it personally. They know THEIR fields ... ask any Doomer .

How vain Quaker Flake, always about you. Sorry but it's not. The middle school uses those fields and they cancel their games at the littlest of rain. We have practiced and played on those fields and they do not drain. I compared them to Expressway. You trying to say they are just as good? Not only can't you umpire or run a tournament you can't evaluate fields. You should you have been run off enough.

I didn't see this Musty...

You want to explain yourself with the "you should you have been run off enough" statement. This is a real serious matter now for you to make this statement on here in my place of business. I take it legally seriously. If for some reason you feel Wilmington run me off from there.. then you are indeed sadly mistake or been told some information not true. But, since you seem to be shooting off at the mouth.. then give me your proof of such. Give it to the whole OFC family.

Calling the mayor of Wilmington, who by the way is a fellow Quaker, " a good for nothing mayor" to his face surely I upset him :D. Actually, I was told by the board if I would apologize to the Mayor I could come back at a meeting last spring... I asked if they put money or even dirt on the fields and they said some and I told them that some was not enough. ( I had already known they put dirt on the fields and went to see them after a rain and watched drainage and not impressed as the ballfield was shaped like a bowl of soup)... so I told them I doubt that would happen in my lifetime when it came to an apology for the good for nothing mayor that controls this Park Board. :yahoo:

As for a tournament director, I have had no complaints and it has been said in the tournament threads after the tournament the fun the teams had or a nice tournament comment or two. Been blasted about lack of toilets in Goshen for the Lasers event.. but that wasn't mine as the TD or Goshen Parks decision. I suggested porta-johns .

As for my umpiring, I work hard and do the job I am paid to do. And I would believe that people who know me and has had me as their umpire over the years say I do a very good job. I'm proud of that fact actually. The hard work paid off. Just Sunday, a coach said a nice thing to me when I had to umpire a game where an umpire was called away in the final round.

I don't umpire in Beavercreek after the TD decided to s C R E W the umpires out of money ( $5.00 a game ) at the famous "outfield tournament" last Spring because he shortened the games ( not repaying the teams of course) and brought it to his attention in his own OFC tournament thread. :lmao: As umpires, we hung in eight hours as the games got started at 4 pm and then he short changed us. He black-balled me...LOL

Then of course Bob followed along because I made a statement that he never uses any type of diamond dry on his fields when it rains. Easier to cancel games... he self admitted it in another thread " That he knows his diamonds" and doesn't use diamond dry. So the reason for the black-ball from Bob.:D

But, at the winter umpire meeting of our association this Winter I'll have my say with my fellow umpires. Have spoken to many already and found out they are disgruntled with Beavercreek as a whole as well. That's not a good sign actually. Especially with more ASA event coming to Dayton in 2011 and most umpires dual sanction and ASA is inticing every umpire I know by paying more to the umpires to come do ASA. Just some behind the scenes info for you since you know it all and the ASA/USSSA association battle AND umpire saga of SW Ohio.

As for calling me Quaker Flake.. I'll give you the same warning I gave Ringer. Take heed. I take my faith seriously.

Julie ( Klump) you missed this part of the quote in your post earlier.

Contact them Mike, the fields and people there are both great. I am pretty sure Expressway is USSSA. I would love to see Goshen and the NSA work something out.

Goshen people said "NO" to NSA when an org thought they was going to run an NSA event there.

Mike knows I had thought about it before this past winter and but was convinced it wasn't best for Goshen Jr Sports.

WOW This was a good read, IMO you guys need to find a ring and slug it out. I bet OFC nation would sell out an arena to watch.

I agree. Very entertaining to read however is doing nothing for the original content of this thread or promoting girls fastpitch in Ohio. Take your toys and go to another room to play. Mr. Craig is going to have a tough enough job without this.;&
