We have been streaming to GameChanger with a GoPro Hero 8. I either score and stream with my iphone 13, or connect my ipad to my iphone Verizon hotspot and score and stream on the ipad, or stream on one and score on the other. Regardless, the GoPro Quik app and ipad (if used) connect to my iphone Verizon hotspot for internet. The issue we are having is getting the Quik app to find and connect to my hotspot. When you're setting up the stream - you have to find and select a wifi network. My hotspot either isn't there or takes FOREVER to come up as a network option. Plenty of other networks do show up so it is finding wifi networks, just not my hotspot - which is so frustrating because it's my phone - exactly where the app is being used. My hotspot sharing is on, signal might be strong or weak and this happens.
I have no idea - is this a Verizon issue....iphone issue....GoPro Quik app issue?
Other than that we have no major issues streaming with the Go Pro. This just happens frequently enough.
Anyone else have any insight on this issue?

There is rarely a strong enough signal at our tourneys to stream. Like you mentioned always a list of networks available but rarely ours.

It doesn't necessarily depend on signal strength as much as it does the number of people (devices) trying to use that signal. Think of Berliner during any large tournament. I'm sure you will show perfect signal strength, but there is no chance you will be downloading or uploading video at any decent speeds. Just my 2 cents.

Definitely makes sense, and did have the issue this past weekend at Berliner, depending on what field we were on. Has been happening at smaller tournaments too. Figure it's just the Verizon signal which is frustrating, I am paying for it. But thought it also might be an app or iphone thing too. Also tried with a TMobile hotspot but the Go Pro app wouldn't connect to it.

So annoying! When you have a strong signal but can't use it. What are we paying for? LOL.

We have had only 1 live streaming issue this season. That being in Indy at Grand Park. The reception there sucks.

Equipment we use:
Mevo camera
universal fence clip mount from thefenceclip.com (works on any fence including net)
Camera fan cover (camcooler.com) NEVER any issues with overheating
Alcatel LINKZONE (this is for our internet) (completely unlimited)

HERE'S THE KEY, Stream with SIDELINE HD. Its free and doesnt cost viewers at all. You can stream through Sideline HD and it will stream to your facebook, youtube, and even twitter if you want.
Easy scoring layover we use through the sideline HD app too. For us and now many other teams this has become a no-brainer.

we still keep score and stats through gamechanger as our official book.
