Thanks for the inquiry. Because of the early June weekend, we decided the 18u age group would be limited in their availability. They may still be with their high school teams as state tournaments are that weekend, coach contact limits and possible graduations. We hate to turn any team away but we didn't want to string teams along and then have to cancel that age group at the last minute.

This tournament has been great for the past 8 years, the members of RVBFY have poured blood, sweat, and tears into getting these fields ready for play. Field Dry is a necessity for any tournament in early June! This tournament took place 2 years ago after 5" of rain on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning. RVBFY is a non profit organization and has a beautiful 12 diamond park that is centrally located for teams from Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern Ohio to meet and play competitive softball. One thing about this tournament (thanks to a parking fee), it has been played and completed for the past 8 years!!!

I'm sure all the teams that have played here in the past can quote what an experience this tournament has been with all the rain in the past? Teams have always stated how much they love the dedication of an organization like RVBFY to stay up all night with residential and commercial grade water pumps to remove the ponds created on these diamonds and spreading 100's of bags of quick dry and raking and raking to make this tournament happen every year.
Like almost every tournament, the helpers are volunteers and I'm sure they would love to trade places with ya "Justawondering"! I'm sure they would love to just sit back and watch the games than to volunteer all night and all weekend long to assist this complex with improvements needed each year to facillitate Youth Softball and Baseball and building for a brighter tomorrow.

"Justawondering" every tournament has a rain policy!

Good luck RVBFY and wish you the best hosting this tournament for a 9th YEAR!! Wish we could be there!!

PONY Nationals in own back yard as well (Akron). If my team doesn't get enough exposure through Stingrays, Loudonville, GAPSS, Lasers Gold then we need to give up.

sorry that this isnt a pony qualifier anymore. it seems that everyone is going to asa. and we felt that this would be a better fit for us. there is nothing in writing that says we cant go back to a pony qualifier next year. we'll see how this goes and at the end of the year we'll make that call.

Come on LK, your competitive edge wont allow you to do Pony Natl's, lol! This tournament isn't about college exposure, it's about a being a tune up for 18's preparing for the exposures. If you want them to add 18's I'm sure they will accommodate; as you've earned your respect over the years. Let Brian or RVBFY know and I'm sure they will be more than happy to assist you, but the only attraction for a Pony is that 18 is local, but I know you want the best of the best and you'll end up at an ASA or USSSA for a National run either way. Good Luck this year!!

Marion Ump,I understand the busy weekend of your tournament, we the Heartbreakers have been playing in this tournament from day one.In fact we played Angels w/Attitude on one of those back diamonds that had so much water in right center we lost our right fielders because she couldn't swim!!! We will miss not playing there this year. Brian still owes a round at BWs. Can't you find five 18/U teams?

Something to Consider Brian, 18U does like to use this as a tune up right as HS season has ended or ending!
