Fed up with Captain U it sucks. Only reason I got an account was because a bunch of tournament directors "partnered up" with them and gave me the impression if I didn't jump on board we would be the only team not in the coaches books at the tournament - otherwise I don't need it. Well most of the time I get errors logging in. Then they get my account mixed up with a player account. I get either no reply to Help questions or Automated Robo replies that indicate the complaint was never read by a human being. In short - it sucks. Done ranting for now thank you.

OK WW probably moved this to the Rants and Raves section. Trying to add your event and I get this error every time I try to log on:

We're sorry, but something went wrong.

We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly

Tried two different computers, tried Explorer, tried Firefox. Of course no reply from tech support....

Totally agree. DD came down this morning all freaked out because she got an email from them saying she was the only one from the team who did not fill her profile out, and no one would know she was at the Showcase this weekend. They gave her a deadline of tomorrow. She asked me to fill it out for her whole she was at school. Got an email saying they got a password change request (that we didn't request), and later got an error trying to sign in.

It seems like just a money grab to me!
Sending emails every few days saying a College Coach found you! Spend the money & find out who!!!

Much better ways to spend the $$$ in my opinion to find the right fit, then what this service seems to provide.........

It is absolutely a scam. Signed up 2 years ago per a tournament requirement. Spent the $ to see which coaches were viewing profile, as did other of DDs friends. Pretty much every single time that team viewed DD profile also viewed a teammates simultaneously...and I am talking about obscure colleges that are several states away in the dead of winter. The best was a couple weeks ago when a former college coach who resigned at the start of summer viewed DD profile as well as one of her friends at like 3 am.

Total scam and ripoff. Genius business and marketing model though.

It is actually suppose to work the opposite way....

Parents players contact the colleges they are academically interested in FIRST before they should start attending a bunch of clinics or worry about being recruited.....
then you can make a list of those colleges that are the ones you want to attend for academics and start narrowing it down.... IF you get to play softball too that's a BONUS!!

funny how I get emails every couple weeks from Captain U saying " a college has noticed you" then if you want to see who it is... you have to sign up and give them a bunch of money to join to see any information at all! lol this is nothing but a money making scam. and I agree!! stop pushing this down our throats TD's and making every girl sign up making it sound like this big great thing that is going to get your kid a scholarship.... it isn't!!

I think what happens is that Captain U convinces the TD they are providing them a valuable service at no cost (to the TD anyway) by creating the profile books. On the surface I can understand why they would agree to this. Captain U makes out because they get all the players and coaches contact info and immediately market's college scholarship dreams via email.

But I don't think tournament directors really know the back story. For what most showcases charge, I suggest there is money there for them to create their own profile books and I really don't think it would take too much effort.

College coaches I know absolutely hate CaptainU. The emails sent from the kids are canned spam.

DanMaz I agree with you. Academics first. I didn't care if my dd played for a D1 to a D3 or anything lower, just as long as she received an education to help her for the rest of her life. I see a lot of dads so concerned what division the daughters play for or chest pumping (coaches too) on what the are pursuing. Last I seen a professional softball player wasn't making a lot of money.
