18U: Central Ohio Stingrays- Housh beat the OK Impact (a very good team, I recruited a player from there when I was coaching in Kansas) 6-2. The Stingrays picked up Markie Pozzuto from Maplewood High School, because one of the Rays' pitchers could not attend (I believe due to commitments to her college team). Markie threw all 7 innings and recorded 16 strikeouts!!!

The Stingrays and the Cincinnati Elite will play today, so I assume the Elite won their first game.

14U: The Central Ohio Stingrays-Cottrell lost to the Lady Lasers Purple 9-4. (I believe they were the only two Ohio teams in the tournament, but some how managed to blind draw each other!!!)

Just in from Seattle. Buckeye Heat 16U win their first pool game, 6-0, against Oakland Park A's out of Illinois. Both Ashley Byers and Rachel Lemaster went yard. And the game attracted the attention of at least one Division I coach, who chatted with JoeA and the two non-parent coaches after the game.

Up next this afternoon, the Wichita Mustangs. Heat staff scouted their first game and they all agreed that a win over the Mustangs would be quite an accomplishment, as the team was very impressive in its first pool game.

Ohio Bandits won their 2nd Pool Play game vs. So. Cal Mirage 3-2 in Owensboro, KY. Weather in Owensboro is (and I quote the DD here) "not for the weak".

GO OHIO! Looks as if the Buckeye State is fairing well across the country!
