Thinking about removing the Rants 'n Raves and Politics section from the forum?

We're thinking about removing the Rants 'n Raves and Politics section from the forum. The main reasons for doing this because after looking thru the rant n rave section I've notice a lot of discussion that should have been posted under the General Section that was inside the rant n rave section. The Politics sections seem to only beused during the presidential elections and really does nothing to discuss or encourage discussion on Girls Fastpitch Softball.

Were consider doing away with both and just make a section called (anything but softball). We have grown a lot in the last year and I want to keep moving forward with making this the best Softball Forum it can be.

So I'm putting this out to the members as a poll and see what you all think..

I welcome any feedback by replying to this thread.

If we decide to move forward and eliminate rant n rave and Politics, all softball related topic will be move into the proper section of the forum and everything else will be move into the (anything but softball) section we will add.

Great call; especially eliminating the politics section. We get enough of that already from other media sources!

Long time reader just a Newbie as a member. Maybe other won't agree with me but it's easier to find information now then it's ever been. I do have a question wouldn't it be easier to just move the post into the proper section and leave the Rant 'n Rave section alone and request that members stop posting Softball discuss inside the rant n rave section of the web site?

Is eliminating Rants/Raves and replacing it with Anything But... really "moving forward"? Or is it just a change - disguised as progress? I mean, it accomplishes the same thing no matter what we call it.

Whatever the heading, I'm all for it. In periods like now - late fall - there would be nobody on OFC if we only talked softball.

Leave the rants and raves. Edit out the politics.

I like the rants and raves section. I think it was created to separate the general softball and R&R, wasn't it? So will those posts just start going back to general?

Also, I love the political posts in that section. But, I like to hear other's views on politics no matter how weird they are, I just love the aggravation.

I voted to take out politics but leave the rants and raves. I have seen a lot of good discussions started in rants and raves, and got some good entertainment out some of the posts as well. If politics stays, I'm fine with it ... I vowed to stay away from it at some point during this election cycle because it got really bitter and there were lots of ridiculous, one-sided, and propaganda-ish posts coming from both sides of the aisle, and I already get enough of that from TV and the internet!
