This thread is sounding dangerously close to my Grandma (89) and my Great Aunt Lois (87) talking to each other about "these young whippersnappers". LOL.
I agree with Ringer, kids in h.s./m.s. rarely know yet what they want to be. Sometimes you have to let them do something stupid in the safety of your care...i.e. Lime green spiked hair, or in my daughter's case, she wanted purple tips at the ends of her hair last summer. Well, she went with the purple (side note: you have to BLEACH your own hair first and then apply the color dye). Needless to say, within 3 days time we went from dark purple to light purple to pink to aqua blue to a greenish thing and then to a blonde/white. It was NOT a good look. She had to cut it short just to get it back to normal. Lesson learned and I think she's smarter for it.
