The school did not post it... and knowing the person who posted it, she had no idea that the JV Coach had not been notified that he did not have a job.
However, this does not surprise me since they did not interview him for the head coaching job even though they told him that they would. From my understanding, they wanted to hire someone as coach and also as a teacher. I have no problem with that, but give the JV coach the courtesy of telling him what their plans are. Rude and stupid.... and do they even wonder why their program is in the pits????

>:( Hi Everyone, thanks so much for the support. It was bad enough to not be interviewed for the varsity job after being told that I would be, but to read on an online forum that Toledo Central Catholic is taking applications for my job well, it's just not right, and not professional. In fact, it's classless. Shame on whoever posted it without making sure the person you're firing is told about it before hand. It's too bad that that other forum took the post off of the softball thread. It was an interesting discussion.

As of the time of this posting I have not heard anything from CCHS. I did receive a flyer in the mail last week asking me to donate to some teacher's fund. That ain't gonna happen. Answer me this, understanding that the new head coach likely wants to hire his own staff, why wouldn't he interview the current staff before deciding to post the jobs? Especially since his boss, the AD, already asked me to return?

In a way I have to laugh because this puts me in the same class as a lot of outstanding coaches/managers. Fired! LOL!! I've never been let go of anything in my life. Even more disgusting to me, when I was hired I was told two things, not to do anything to embarass the school, and to make the City League playoffs.

In my two seasons there I made the CL playoffs both years and had no issues. In fact, several parents, I'm told, lobbied for my hire as the varsity coach. Yet they chose to go elsewhere. It has been eons since they had a softball team at any level make the league playoffs...and make it two years in a row.

I'm po'd, I'm a bit stunned, and I'm available to hire! If you know of any openings please email me at njkujawa@buckeye-express.com.

I can not speak for everyone, but you are a great guy and wonderful coach. CCHS just made a HUGE mistake, and some other HS program will benefit from it GOOD LUCK and we are all behind you.

Just to try to see things from the other side. If I were a new coach coming in, and trying to establish myself among the new players and parents, I would be hesitant to retain any of the old coaching staff, for fear of "Who's really running the show." If Coach Kajawa is as highly respected as you all say, this could be an uphill struggle for a new coach, trying to gain respect, and may not feel he will be looked upon as the coach.
The same thing occured when I took over the HS job that I now have. I was able to work with the old staff and retain 2 of the previous coaches. It has been a great experience.
Before you speculate on what has, or is happening, I would keep a tight tongue, and let things play out. I'm sure the new coach will want whats best for his team, and Coach K may be in the mix. Just my 2 cents worth.

Lady Knights...
It's not about if Coach K gets the head job or keep the JV job.. it's about courtesy to your existing coaching staff. No one should hear about this by rumor. This is dis-respectful and unprofessional. Even if Coach K was not a good coach, it should be handled differently. Everyone deserves respect.

Trust me when I say this, I do not know the whole story, and am not connected any way with the school but from talking to friends and ready posts on these forums it sounds like Norm did not even get a chance to be apart of the future. I do know for a fact (from a mother of a player) that he did a GREAT job not only coaching but TEACHING the young ladies. I understand that a new leader of a program wants to run it his way and wants to make his mark but to let this slip out on a POST online even if it was someone else not the AD or New coach is just plain WRONG I have only been around the game of fastpitch for a couple of years and have not seen everything (yet) but this may be the most disturbing thing that I have seen yet. IMHO

Lady Knights I understand what your saying. The problem with CCHS it is a dominate Toledo City League girl's sport school. Except with Softball, its below avg. Its the program, so as a new coach you would think you would want somebody like Norm on your staff, who has the teaching expierence, Travel Ball connections and the ability to oversee a Summer program just as he did this past summer, even though he knew he wasnt getting the Varsity job. He stayed and worked with the kids.

It bothers me more how it was handled, as F2H said: Norm deserved a hell of alot more respect then that.

Uber CCHS is crazy to lose coach K. He will be a great find for any program. Coach K did a heck of a job with this program and deserved some respect. It makes the program and the people in charge at CCHS look stupid. :'( This is a blemish on CL softball. If anyone needs to fill a position, coach K is your man!! ;)

He is keeping his options open at this time. I believe he does have some options he is mulling over.

flash news!!!!! The new head coach at Central Catholic walks away from the job.... the why's are not known yet.... but it puts CCHS back into another embarrassing situation of looking for a new head coach. If they would have done adequate research on this one, this probably would not have happened.
Now the question comes into play of going outside or trying to get "who they should have hired" back into their program. I am hearing that he is "mulling" over other options.
Whatever CCHS does, let's hope that for the sake of softball, that they make a wise decision.

Sorry to hear this because the young ladies are the ones who will have to suffer, :( :(
Hope both parties make the right decision. Good luck ;)

That is freaking horrible for those kids, what a shame. I have 5 words for CCHS, Norm Kujawa or Mike Wehier.
