We played at Brookside Park Ashland Ohio in a tourney in a snow storm. This was back in high school when we still had white softball. Try hitting a white ball with big white snow flakes coming down! I question the 40 ,The 2pm and at 5PM game time when it drops 15 degrees.

The temperature didn't matter, we played in snow, rain, and freezing winds...as long as the field was playable.

As far as i know it's still on. Last i heard they were canceling the morning and night games. Fairborn and Boro have pulled out. Not sure about anybody else.
Is the tourney at athletes in action called off, in xenia?

While it may have been over 40 at 2:00 pm, it sure as heck was a lot colder when I got to the field at 5:30 tonight! Thank goodness it only went 5 innings.

OCC used to have a 40[sup]o[/sup] minimum reading at 1:00pm. Generally a conference determination. DD had a college game at 28[sup]o[/sup] with around a 22[sup]o[/sup] windchill a couple weeks ago; field they're scheduled on tomorrow currently has 1 inch of snow on it...

just got home from DD's two games tonight. 7PM game was still at or near 40. 10PM game was down around 36 when we left. Didn't phase the girls one bit. They won both games. 11-1 and 12-0. Tattooing the ball.
BIG cups of hot chocolate, and the UK game on a mini TV kept us parents in line!!

It's 40 degrees and that includes wind chill. I'm not sure how that impacts scrimmages.

Apparently does not affect scrimmages as we scrimmaged yesterday and it was 36 degrees. Windchill had to be below 32 as it was pretty breezy.

Helping a rec team with practice....37 and we didn't get the pitching machine out of the van. Tool cold for the 12's we were working with. Stuck with good ol' fast paced drills. They loved it and never really complained.

my DD freshmen is on the JV team and i asked the coach the same question the other day,, i was told that as long as the field is playable and there is no lightning- then games are on.. i was told that last year they played a game that was below 10 degrees when it started.. i guess i shouldnt feel too bad about the 41 degrees the other day..and they were in shorts... lol pdad7

I think the season would be so much more enjoyable if it was moved to the fall.

We've played several games in blowing snow over the last couple years. HS is tough!!! Trying to squeeze 27 games in before tourneys begin. Some places in Ohio are friendlier than others.
