I think similar questions get asked a lot, but the fact is, not all rec ball is the same. I think if you're in a league where there is some good pitching, and they really work with the girls, extra reps are good, pitching or hitting. But if you are around a league that has barely developed pitchers and the coaches are whoever's mom/dad they could rope into it, it's better to just practice than to play in that environment. Some rec leagues are really good, others not so much... for travel ball players anyways. And sometimes you can even play up a division in rec ball and help yourself that way also. Just my two cents...
