Can the EP in NSA be used on defense without being subbed in, similar to the DP in ASA? Can they move between defensive positions like a DP can, and have it considered a position change, not a substitution?
Example:
1. player 1 listed as EP in lineup and does not start the game defensively.
2. In third inning player 1 enters (not a substitution) for player 2 who is playing left field. Player 1 and player 2 keep their same positions in the batting order.
3.In the fourth inning player 1 moves to center (for player 3) and player 2 returns to left field. Players 1, 2, 3 maintain their same positions in the batting order.
I was discussing this with another coach yesterday and need some clarification.
