I notice over this weekend in the U16's that a club used a pitcher from a another Team, What are you telling your pitchers that you can not win with you so we are bring another pitcher so we can win.

We don't know all the facts .

Maybe the team had only one pitcher and she had already pitched several games that day and was too tired or too hot ?(in the 90's much of the weekend here in Toledo) :p.

It could also be that the pitcher was nervous about facing a strong rival team and didn't feel up to the challenge :-/

Anyway, all I'm saying is that we don't really know why the coach brought in outside help, so maybe we should give them the benefit of the doubt. :)

Unless you have facts of a legitimate roster conflict that is against the rules (which you should report), I would focus on my own team instead of worrying about another team's business. If your team happens to be an opponent of this particular team, take it as a challenge to get your kids a look at better pitching. That's what helps them to improve as hitters, and isn't that what it's all about - improving and getting better? Winning is nice, but don't let the trees block your view of the forest.

bringing in outside help is a sore subject...you end up sitting your own players (if they are struggling) or feeling obligated to use a guest player (is it fair for their parents to have them change their plans and then NOT play them?)....maybe it was a roster move due to injuries (or graduations/other commitments/etc) or it was completely selfish, who knows...

in the end, by the time 16's roll around, it's all about winning...as for the pitcher/player who was sat down, I'm sure it's not ever easy to sit...i even tell my DD..."hit 400 and coach is forced to play you, hit 200 and it makes his job easier"

as for the struggling players confidence, well, that's the subject of another post somewhere in OFC land :-X

I agree with katjoebenmom and Sammy...Without all the facts it is hard to know how to respond to this. As long as it was not a roster issue, it's that particular teams business to handle.

There were state championship games going on this weekend, could a pitcher have been there? Or at a H.S. prom? Taking the SAT?
