Piddle is referring to the Elementary school next door. ?Yes they needed alot of work and the grass was so high it actually hurt my ankles when we walked to the fields. ?Nice tournament but needed work. ?We are going to Pony Nationals and they are using Candlelight Knolls field for some games and they were maintained Nicely during the VE tourney.

Yes I was refering to the elementary fields. ?I don't remember seeing any VE teams playing there. ?I wonder why????? ?Great fields for a kickball tournament.

Piddle, VE White played all 3 pool games at that elementary field. They're not the greatest, but I didn't hear 1 kid complain. Last week our pitchers had to pitch f/ a mound. Still heard no complaints. 2 weeks prior, the rain kept us f/ playing any games on Sunday. That's when I heard the girls complain.

If they did complain and the umpires heard them the strikezone moved to hairline to shoelaces.

It amazes me to see how every tournament there is some sort of controversy. My DD played at the elementary fields both days and their wasn't anything wrong with the fields. VE played there both days also. It's summer time, the weather was hot, no rain, dust was blowing, c'mon it could have been like a few weeks back when no one played or played when it was raining and cold. Play ball and have fun and quit worrying about the minor details like the grass pricking you as you walk through it to get to your seat. The fields and outfields were fine.

You are right. ?Being able to play all of our games with no rain or cold was nice. ?I may be spoiled by the tournaments who try to give us our monies worth.

I have played at many tournament over my DD 7 year run at travel softball. I only have one question for you. WHAT ORGANIZATION DO YOU PLAY FOR? Does your organization have tourneys? Have you ever run a 54 team/ 9 field tourney??
And last quit hiding behind this "trial member"
You have no idea the amount of effort it requires to run a tourney. I get tired of you players and parents that complain about everything. I'm taking a wild stab at this that you have never run a large tournament, so until you do start THANKING the hosts for donating of there time to allow you or your darling daughter the opportunity to play.

I dont hide behind a screen name!!!!!

Good morning,
? I need a little help our team played in the 10u division that weekend and one of our families left behind their digital camera at Bazetta Elementary on Sunday. If ?the coaches and or parents of the teams playing there sunday would check with your teams and followers to see if it was found please contact me by email or pm. It was a Sony Cybershot. The parents are spending enough to just travel let alone to loose something this valuable so please be considerate and return it if you found it.
? ?Thank You. ?

My team Valley Extreme 12U Blue played all their games at the elementary school on Saturday. The fields are not Candlelight but they were very playable. If you have every run a tournament, working on fields, concession stand, hauling equipment, and not to mention coaching your team you might understand. I personally had nothing but positive comments from teams playing at the elementary school. Coaches were at that complex until 8pm Friday night mowing grass, dragging fields, and trimming around the fields. Valley Extreme is a class organization and takes suggestions every year on how to improve their tournaments but the comments on the fields at the elementary school will be ignored.

This was my team's 4th or 5th visit to a VE/Cortland tournament, and as usual, great job. The competition is always great...the host team does a thorough job of making sure everything is taken care of....and the umpiring was pretty consistent and we had no issues. Sure, we might not agree with every call and I have never known an umpire to get a close call right :) but they did a great job in the U16 games. And yes, I have played at the Elementary school before and if I remember correctly, the biggest issue was when the girls were U12 and "creeped out" by the cemetary nearby.

12U Valley Extreme White CONGRADULATIONS !! on winning the 12u at Chain Reaction Tournament this past weekend.

With that being said there is a TON of work that needs to happen for a tournament even begins. ?Countless hours with posting tournament, making schedules and brackets, getting fields ready. ?People who have never had that privlage of running a tournament no matter how big have no way of understanding that.

Chain Reaction has played at Valley Extreme's Tournament numerous times over the years and have ALWAYS had a great time. ?It is well runned and the fields always looked great and good competition. To the observers complaing about the umps at the Valley Extreme Tournament,?there are always games where you might not agree to ?an umpires calls but thats how it goes, I had the same set of umpires at my tournament and had not 1 complaint. No one is perfect and even umpires can make mistakes. ?Instead of arguing be thankful that you are able to watch your kid play ball and enjoy the game and people.

again CONGRATS 12u VE White !!

Valley, we still think your tournament was great and now after a tournament run by someone who should not even be able to rake the field, your tournament looks that much better. Great job again. Take a look at the twister summer blowout post if you want to see some real problems.
