We ended up 4th overall in the Y-town Mayhem. Great to finally get outside on the dirt. Great job to all the teams in the tournament and Jeff Steiner for again supporting the WWAST team.

Colleen "Red" Coughlin got her first over the fence homer!

We ended up 2-2-1 on the weekend. Thank you Rob Latess from Silver Creek for coming out and being a guest coach!

Great job WWAST Ladies this weekend at the Valley Extreme Double Trouble.

We ended up 3rd, too bad it was rain shortened, we really wanted to get a chance to battle back through double elimination to get another crack at a very good VE Kelm/Wolfpack Dudek-Chevalier team.

We ended up 2-1-1, scored 37-11 runs.

Riley Zana, Cassidy Shaffer, and Elizabeth Dyke all had homers this weekend!

Great weekend at Fury Early Bird! We had 14 players, all 14 contributed to each game.

We ended up an official 6-0, (1-1 in extra game scrimmages), to win the tournament Championship st Firestone and repeat as Champs!

Shout out to Umpire Ken Stillwagon for donating a game check to WWAST! We know how hard the umpires work on a long weekend, thanks Ken!

The WWAST Lady Warriors finished their spring at the 5th Annual Lightning Invitational and a different roster was at May Madness May 20 - 22 @ Beaver Falls, PA ASA WPA.

They were mostly rained out at Beaver Falls, ended up 1-1 there. Special thanks to coach Rob Latess from Silver Creek for guest coaching along with several of our great parents!

Went 4-2 at the Lightning Invitational losing in the semi finals to eventual winner Wolfpack Dudek. Great weekend of softball, alot of close games and great plays. Special thanks to guest coach Micaela Minner for coming out on friday and coaching. It was a thrill for the girls and coaches to see you out there.

Great job everyone for another great Winter/Spring WWAST Lady Warrior "season". We ended up playing 6 tournaments, winning championships in "3" of them and battling deep every weekend.
We were able to continue to raise awareness and alittle money (I am tallying it up and will post what we have raised so far) for the hero's of The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team.
Very special thanks to the coaches that helped over the course of the tournaments and the tournament directors and org presidents and representatives that donate time, money, tournament fees, etc.
We obviously could not do it without all of your hard work, time, patience and big hearts:
Dan Masiello - PA Outlaws Premier
John Coughlin - Lady Lookouts
Rob Latess - Silver Creek Latess
Don Christley - Lady Lookouts
Micaela Minner - D&M

Dave Orms - Umpire
Ken Stillwagon - Umpire
Andy Soltes - Team PA
Jeff Steiner - Thunder Elite
Danny Petersen - Fury
Steve Smith, Joe Angelo - Valley Extreme
Brent Collinsworth - Ohio Lightning
Stephen from ASA WPA
Special thanks to Dennis Wince from WWAST for his enthusiastic support of our efforts!

Tom ... good post and great job with this entire effort. Regardless of the amount of money raised, the awareness raised including for those young ladies participating is outstanding! I hope this is something that continues for a long time!

Tom ... good post and great job with this entire effort. Regardless of the amount of money raised, the awareness raised including for those young ladies participating is outstanding! I hope this is something that continues for a long time!

It started as one tournament in 2014 for a local charity for a fire in our hometown. Then was going to be one in 2015 for The WWAST that became "4" tournaments and 34 players by years end, then another "8" winter 2015- spring 2016 (2 full or partial rain outs).

When I say its humbling, it really is. I have had the distinct honor and pleasure to coach approx 50 of the finest young ladies, leaders and softball players in Ohio and PA. And to do it with some of the best coaches and parents, all in it for the right reasons. Truly no drama at all, lots of smiles, excitement and energy every weekend.

Plenty of friendships made, positive softball and life connections. I know I learned alot as a coach from the coaches, players and families with a wealth of softball knowledge. I hope the girls did also and all had a great experience playing with us and against us.

Thank you!

Also, as far as continuing the Lady Warrior efforts....

We were awarded an opportunity to play in the PGF Midwestern Nationals July 28-31 in Peoria IL at 14u. We will look for a sponsor(s) to pay our entrance fees. Once our summer team knows where we will be, I'll be contacting players not already heading to a nationals and see what roster will can put together to compete. Entrance fee for players will just be a donation of purchasing our next team uniform, with name/nickname on back,(30% gets donated to WWAST):

https://www.cagear.com/store/custom-name-number/wwast-traditional-camo-jersey/

WWAST_TraditionalCamo_Jersey-380x380-1.jpg

We will be attending a WWAST event in Columbus to finally meet the guys we are all so proud of:

http://woundedwarrioramputeesoftballteam.org/event/columbus-oh/

We will also be taking a WWAST team down to Myrtle Beach Oct 14-16 for an ASA tournament at 16-18u sponsored by Mark Skapin.

I apologize in advance, I cannot take all players that may be interested and will have to make decisions based on position and past support of WWAST first. Those that know me, know the last thing I want to do is exclude anyone from the experience, but need to keep rosters to 12 in this case so all get quality playing time for the expensive commitments to travel and such.

Other than that I'll have to see what our summer team for next season has planned to schedule more events, also my DD is in High School ball next year as a freshman and that will limit it some also.

Thank you.
