The Westerville Warcats 10U won the Madriver Class on Sunday beating the Cross County Cannons last night in the Championship game. ( Last Pitch around 10PM). Congratulations to the Cannons on a hard fought Championship game. Classy group of parents and coaches.

Thanks to Mitch and his crew in West Liberty for an incredible job getting the fields ready to play with the heavy rains on Saturday. Well organized and ran tournament.

Thanks again for all the hard work in West Liberty.

Congratulations Mike!

How many games did you get in? We went to Zanesville and didn't even get a coin flip!

This was a nice tournament considering what had to happen with all the rain. This was my first time at Lyons Park (field?) but I thought it was a nice venue. Plenty of places to warm up and trees for shade. Noticed MANY people brought campers, RV's, etc.

A few umps with eyesight problems snuck onto the field but they didn't win/lose us anything, just made it annoying.

Rick,

Well played game between the Merchants and Warcats. Your pitcher had a great command of her pitches and kept us off balance. It was nice to meet you in person and would love to play your team again. Great job with your young ladies.

Bill,

Thanks and Leah says hey.

Kilbane,

Just trying to keep up the tradition you established 2 years ago. Tell Sammy to have a great Summer.

Got a chance to play the 10U Warcats this weekend in Vandalia.
I just wanted to say how much of a pleasure it was to watch your team and coaches work during the game. The positive energy and encouragement each player received was, frankly, a breath of fresh air!
We (Cincy Static) fell to the Warcats 3-1 in pool play. We shook hands and then my wife came up to me to say that one of the parents came up to her to say that they thought our catcher, my DD, was a joy to watch behind the plate during the game. My DD struck out as the tying run at the plate on Saturday to end the game. No shame in that as the Warcat pitcher was lights out! But my DD has been in a funk for six weeks and she was very dejected after the game. We had our team huddle on the field and our coach laid a tirade on our kids. After the speech I turned around to see two Warcat coaches standing in the dugout watching and then they called "hey, 21, come here for a second"...Both coaches stuck around to tell my DD how awesome she did behind the plate and told her to never give up catching and to keep working"

I just want to publicly thank the Warcats for that experience as a dad. It meant a lot to my daughter and to my wife. I was left speechless.

Thank you and best of luck, Warcats!

Thanks for sharing that story. We've scrimmaged Mike's team a couple times this year and I'm not surprised to read this. They are a class act all the way.

By the way Mike the pitcher who broke her wrist in that game over at the church gets her cast off this Wed. Hopefully she'll have the green light to play this weekend at the Warcats Invitational. See you then!
