Merry Christmas!

We hope to see you this weekend and we still have plenty of room if you decide to come on down!

If you want to spend some quality time with the best female hitter in the world and see how she does it this is THE clinic to come to!

She will answer any questions you have about hitting and will give you a better insight as to why we teach what we teach.

You read a lot on many of the forms about what this or that person does or does not do or how linear or how rotational they are or are not........why not come and ask her yourself?

There is a thread about what is the best bat to buy for your young daughter and Straightleg recommends getting hitting lessons....this clinic would be a great investment on creating a foundation for you and your daughter.

See all you lemmings Saturday or Sunday...we made a new hand path device as a visual tool, so far we have had positive feed back. I also used it at IWU last month at the coaches clinic.

We gave one to Coach Larabee a couple weeks ago and will be using them at this clinic so we are looking for some feed back this weekend.

We also have some Speed Radar Units we will be using and then will raffle off as door prizes after the clinic, 4 units total.

Crystl is bringing in some unique items to sign and raffle off also as a fund raiser.

WE have plenty of room left open for walk up registrations so come on down!

We wish HITTER23's new son in law to the family...I just want to see if there are any pictures of him without the Yankees hat on...I have never seen him without it on!

Hey Howard,

Bailey and I had a great time today and thank you for answering my many questions. Crystal was awesome and she also took all the time that was necessary to insure we understood the instruction.

Thanks again,

John

It is not easy changing some peoples concepts on what good hitting mechanics are and why putting in a sound foundation can make teaching it easy....they see it, feel and fix it.

Notice when we used the 5 gallon bucket and brick the squish the bug was gone quickly and the power increased immediately.

Did our new hand path device make it easier to visually demonstrate what a better hand path is verses taking the knob of the bat to the ball?

Thank you for coming and helping us demonstrate the heads up and head down.

This was the best clinic my daughter has ever attended. It was easy to see her progression. The most telling statement was on the trip back home when she said she could feel a difference, and it felt more natural. Her words, not mine. This was from an 11 yr old. Howard, Crystl, Jenny, and everyone else, thank you.

Forgot to mention a few names in my thanks. Must have been the long drive home. MEB and I believe her daughter Melissa? were great coaches during the hitting sessions. My daughter was Samantha, and we appreciate the assistance. Good luck at OU.

I do not even know where to begin. Was it the smile from ear to ear that my two daughters had, the instant results of the hitting drills, the endless information, the chance to meet two Olympic Champions, and it goes on and on. I did not know a soul there yet I felt like I was befriended by more than a few people. Thank you is NOT enough for what my entire family got to experience this weekend.
Howard, my never ending thanks goes out to you and your staff of friends. And that is how it felt there. Everyone was friends. And all there for one purpose. To better equip the girls with the necessary tools to become better hitters, catchers, throwers and fielders of the ball. Howard watched my oldest DD for a few minutes and I saw immediate results. And most importantly, she did as well. My youngest hit the ball harder then she did all year. Simply amazing!!!
The foundation that the clinic has given my DD's will only allow them to strive to achieve more of themselves. And I learned more the first 5 minutes on Saturday then I could have thought possible. Now I know what to look for to help them get better. To teach them the correct fundamentals. To help them get better.
The genuine care that Crystl and Jenny showed all of the girls there was heart felt. The genuine care of the hitting teachers/coaches was also very evident to me. They all took time to go over each drill until it was understood. Both of my DD's loved their teacher/coach. And not only that, other teachers, if they saw something, would come over and show the girls what they were doing wrong or even right.
I cannot say enough good things about what was experienced this weekend by my family. In a heartbeat, I would do it again. To all of the staff, coaches, teachers, students and SWOBAT, I Thank You for a weekend that my family will never forget. For giving my DD's the opportunity to meet greatness. To talk with them, laugh with them, smile with them and create memories that will truly last a lifetime!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

Strobro...I guess I had never really realized how open our clinic really is until you made mention of it. It really is one big happy family I guess.

These clinics are as much for the parents and coaches as it is for the girls. Very few if any clinic I have ever attended allows the parents to be right out in the middle of all the flying balls and errant swings learning alongside their daughters. What Howard and the rest of us try to present over the course of 4-6 hours is just barely scratching the surface, and it is important that we take a little extra time to present it to the girls and parents so they can keep building on the foundation we've started, even after the clinic. All of us, including Howard, learn something new about ourselves and the way we teach at every new clinic.

I am glad to have worked with some very talented young ladies over the last 2 days. I hope that I was able to give them a good foundation to start learning the proper fundamentals needed to become an outstanding hitter. I hope that I was able to present the material in a manner that allowed everyone I worked with to have a better understanding of the proper mechanics. I am always available for additional questions or help with something.

Special Thanks to Howard, Crystl, and Jenny for instructing a great clinic. Big round of applause to the Bustos Ultimates, Tom, Mary Ellen, Marcia, SWOBAT and all the rest of the staff...sorry if I forgot someone. And a big pat on the back to all the fellow Lemmings who worked the stations the past 2 days, great seeing you all again. At the end of the day I was tired and sweaty, but I really wasn't ready for it to be over. Can't wait for the next one!!!:yahoo:

As always, great to see everyone one more time, I look forward to these as the girls are not the only ones to learn new things, i get a whole new out look on things when I speak to my fellow Lemmings and get to discuss training and put it to actual use. Its such a thrill to see the light come on in the girls eyes as somethnig clicks and see immediate results, Britt an I are honerd as always to be part of a function that puts so much effort and thought into the betterment of the kids.
Thanks to everyone for a great weekend, parents, kids, olympians, and lemmings alike, everyone have a happy and safe new years

Thank you to everyone that helps at our clinics as we pointed out to the parents the lemmings (coaches /teachers/students) all pay their own expenses, gas, food, hotels etc and some travel a long way to come here to help us. These are all people I have worked with over the years and with their daughters and in some cases their sons to help lay a foundation to use when ever they are coaching.

The Ultimate's parents and players don't have to be told what to do they just do it! They give a lot to the kids to make it a fun day, so the kids get something from the experience. You want to see some hard working men and women pull together watch them!

The Kings High School parents and players jumped in there and everyone worked TOGETHER however Mary Ellen Bonner and Tom Wiseman are the brain trust that behind the scenes made it happen along with Marcia Wyrck.

Several of our girls in college stopped in just to say hello and many helped at the stations also and the interaction with the hitters said it all...I looked at one group of kids that Melissa Bonner was working with and told the girls a story about her when she was 12 years old and they laughed and I pointed out Mel was that girl and last year she was Ohio Universities offensive player of the year as a freshman!

Boulders Dad Tim and the other lemmings and I had a coaches (lemmings of the mind meeting) and based on the new hand path device we started using we changed a few things around and found another way to teach hand path that is even better!

Jenny Topping told Crystl and I that this is the best run clinic she had ever worked at and the instructors were ALL top notch and knowledgeable and understood why Crystl liked doing clinics here. Jenny could not believe we used 5 gallons buckets with concrete in it and with a concrete block behind their back foot in an effort to teach them quicker and correctly and some of the tools we used to help them learn and to feel it faster!

We talked a lot about ACL injuries in this clinic and the differences of male verses female as to hip width, spine tilt, Q angle ACL notch width etc. Jenny was blown away with the knowledge presented as she has had three ACL surgeries and told the parents she was learning something she did not even know but wished she had. Another parent came up and introduced herself as an RN and was thankful someone was finally talking about the ACL issues and how to prevent it from happening...and then the light bulb went off when a dad came up and said I get it....this is why you teach them how to throw first and why balance is so important...now I see why!

Also if you need private lessons contact SWOBATS and set up a lesson with Pete Sporel. We introduced Pete at the Clinic and I endorse what he teaches and have been working with him since September.

Thanks for coming and sharing your stories and attending the clinic....

Hitter,
what is the clinic setup for 2009? I know you'll be at the Busto's Blast at Rivershore, anything else indoor prior to outdoor season getting into full swing?

Crystl and I will be in Columbus Feb.14 and 15 and we may be doing a coaches clinic on the 14 and hitting on the 15 as Kirk Lowery is putting the agenda together.

I will be doing a clinic for the Static Jan. 11 however I am not sure you or the Static coaches are opening it to the public so you have the info on that not me however I will be there.
