Contrary to the other thread, what aren't you looking forward to this softball season?

I'll get started, long rain delays & tournaments shortened due to Mother Nature!!

Because we have moved 360 miles northeast and HS Softball Season (Games) start next week and the average high thru end of March is 35 degrees. Just bought some of the heavy duty under armour tonight. Thinking she will have to have a hoody under it and maybe a Parka over it.

If we're talking HS ball, and since we just switched HS...not looking to finding our parent niche. DD has found where she belongs, but mom and dad don't have a clue! If we're talking summer ball...not looking forward to splitting up between son's baseball weekends and daughter's softball weekends. Hubby and I will have to switch back and forth!

Funny how we'lll pay $7.00 Gallon for beer but $4.50 for gas seems way too high. LOLl JK Musti, I'm with you on that. No Mas!

And yes Kavin, I drink premium. :)

Bob, did you eat at Chinnati's before you left town? Dined there the other day. Pizza was alright, it had the cornmeal crust but the Italian Beef was nothing like Portillios. Chicago has the best food!

DD taking off cleats in the car, a player who doesn't wear enough deodorant, and sunglasses tan marks.

Lugging all the gear, when the girls get ahold of my Mountain Dew cooler, no warm-up areas, and fastpitch tournaments at slowpitch fields.

Living up to your goals and expectations. Being the "old 10 team" we have higher hope, goals and expectations for our team this year. Walking into those "should win" games is scary now. Last year there was "we'll compete" and "they are good competition".

Centerville FP summed it up with one word.

Let me elaborate. Parents - who think that what happens on the softball field is the most important thing on earth: Our daughter couldn't possibly have been out on that play... That pitch was so down and inside that it couldn't possibly have been a strike... There's no way this team could be beating us... What's my daughter doing on the bench/in the outfield/batting eighth? The coach is an idiot!... Why are seeded 5th for Sunday? We scored two more runs than Team X... We lost because the umpire doesn't know the infield fly rule...etc...

These summers are much more enjoyable if you just let the girls play. You will win some, you'll lose some. On the drive home on Sunday, you've still got your health, a job to go to on Monday, and memories that will last a long time.

:)
