Centerville FP summed it up with one word.
Let me elaborate.
Parents - who think that what happens on the softball field is the most important thing on earth: Our daughter couldn't possibly have been out on that play... That pitch was so down and inside that it couldn't possibly have been a strike... There's no way this team could be beating us... What's my daughter doing on the bench/in the outfield/batting eighth? The coach is an idiot!... Why are seeded 5th for Sunday? We scored two more runs than Team X... We lost because the umpire doesn't know the infield fly rule...etc...
These summers are much more enjoyable if you just let the girls play. You will win some, you'll lose some. On the drive home on Sunday, you've still got your health, a job to go to on Monday, and memories that will last a long time.
