Second time my DD has been there but last year was a washout...any suggestions from those more experienced folks on some things to do, places to eat that are memorable and off the beaten path?

I great place to go with kids is Lords Park. Hugh park with several lagoons, big playground, trails, museum, water park and petting zoo. Buffalo, Elk and Deer. Very close to fields. I went their as a little kid when the Buffalo roamed free. ha

Family lives there and the two places we always go to eat is Nick's Pizza on Randall Road near park and Portillio's also on Randall Road about 15-20 min south in Batavia. They have Italian Beef Sandwiches, our favorite but also have hot dogs, Char-Grilled Italian Sausage, hamburgers and chicken. And the best ribs. Deprecated Browser Error. Also White Cottage pizza on Randall Road.

A very scenic place to eat and shop is in St Charles. River through town with places to eat on river and small shops.

Also close to the park is a Riverboat Casino for those that don't like money.

Another Portillos in Schaumburg, my home town which also has a very large mall, Woodfield Mall. Both on Golf Road.

The golf course right at the fields is a very nice course. Got to play it while we were there last year.
Also took the train into Chicago and agree with shockwave navy pier is a fun time.

There's a Portillio's about 8 blocks from Navy Pier. On Ontario by Hard Rock. LOL

If you going downtown check out a show at Second City.

Close to the park is the Kane County Fair, 525 S Randall Rd

Go to the pier and Saloon Steak House off of Michigan Ave. Worth the wait and the price...

Just drop Musty's name & they will comp your meal or just bill him directly!!!! If you drop Mandy's name, they may throw you out :)
