What would be the toughest 12 U tourney schedule this year?

As the coach of an 11U team this year I am forced with challenging the team with tournaments that are tough enough to push them to their limits, but not so tough that the girls get their teeth kicked in all season long. I'm not asking to start that debate right now, (do you enter the toughest tournaments you can find or do you enter some "softer" tournaments? That could be an interesting debate in another post, but I don't want to get sidetracked here. (Actually I WILL post that to get some thoughts on that topic as well.)
This post is simply this....if you had a very strong 12U team this year & you wanted to challenge your players week in & week out, what would you schedule look like? Start about mid May & continue until the end of July, assuming you would be playing some sort of National Tourney.
What tournaments would you enter? Let's target 8-10 tourneys & keep them all in Ohio.

This ought to spur some interesting debate.

CZ ... good post actually ... we are trying to fill in the remainder of our schedule as well, and this might be helpful as we want to play the most competitive schedule we can also. We have applied to Lasers, GAPSS and Stingrays, and also plan to play in ASA States and Strongsville ASA/USA ... Dayton Metro ASA/USA would also be one of the tougher ones though we may choose to stay more local that weekend. I have always loved Loudonville though that is same weekend as ASA States for us. I don't think I've seen sign up info for Penn/Ohio tourney, but we intend to play that one as well. Am most interested in which late May tourneys will be the best.

I do think there's some merit in an 11-U team playing in a few smaller and more local tourneys ... we did last year as 11-U's ... plus you may have less chance of being accepted in the ones you have to apply to.

We are also an 11U team, but why not play with the 12Us and the best 12Us? Isn't that how you get better? 11U is really not an option for us in IN, but even when playing in OH and IL we will play 12U. Sure we will get beat plenty by 11U and 12U teams, but look to play best teams you can!!! IMO

Let's see if we can help get this post started in the right direction.
May 11-12 TOUGH tourney #1
May 18-19 Unbelievably tough tourney in XYZ city
May 25-26 You won't believe how impossibly difficult this tourney is
Etc. etc.

Have heard about Dayton Metro, Lasers Invitational, Stingrays, GAPPS, ASA States.
Lay it out week by week...what would me the most killer tourney schedule of all?

Based on the last couple of years the LGSA Lancaster Early Bird has been pretty good. Last year we had Lasers, Stingrays, Hawks, Classics, Buckeye Elite, Xtreme Heat, LC Starz, Glory, Storm, WV Wildfire, Vipers, Merchants. 16 12u teams and 12 10u teams.

Hopefully this year is setting up the same way. So I would say thats a good one to start with in the spring! GOOD umpires, good fields, and GREAT competition!! Thats what we are all looking for right!!! This year is May 10,11,12th.
