We aren't looking as much to showcase with an older team, with most of the players already signed, we are looking for the best competition out there for 18u.... any suggestions on a top 5? Thanks

Stingrays, Lasers, GAPSS are by "invitation only" so if you have not applied by now you can't even be considered, and are supposedly geared more toward showcasing and would be in my top 5 in most cases if they weren't by invitation.

But knowing your situation I would have a Top 5 (In no particular order) of:
Loudonville
Wolfpack's Summer "Best of the Best"
ASA States (Elyria for 2013)
Wayne County All-Stars in Kidron
Rumble on the River - ASA/USA National Qualifier

We were a 16U team that played 18's at Loudonville last year and I have to say it was my favorite tournament of the season. The competition was off the hook and the park setting offered shade where you could get out of the sun but still watch the games. Finding a place to lodge can be a bit tough though (we stayed in the Mansfield/Ontario area). Many 18U teams use Loudonville as a warm-up for nationals. There were just as many college coaches at Loudonville last season as there was at ASA States, and the Indy Dreams, Mid-Michigan Firestix, and Team Akadema Showcases. Put Loudonville on your list if possible.

Bev does a great job of running the Loudonville tourneys as well, and it's a great place for team bonding ... canoeing, tubing, go-karts, etc. Was always one of my and DD's favorites ...

I would go to the Wayne County All-Stars in Kidron because they have the best apple dumplings in all of softball.

They also have a nice tournament.

'Agree with Wayne County. It was one of my favorites for a number of reasons.

However, they reserve a portion of the openings for "local teams" which doesn't necessarily offer strong competition.
