Its a system that calls all of your players about updates on games, practice,or schedule changes. Its great, because it will continue to call until someone answers! All you have to do is call and make a recording and the system relays the message in a phone call to all of your players!! You make one call instead of 13, hence the name ONE CALL.

We've found that group text messages work very well and give you the flexibility of updating with new info on a moment's notice.

group text messages through your email converting to text messages or a "text message service"? I know you can email as a SMS text but you have to know the persons cell phone carrier for no cost to the sender, the receiving cell phone rates still apply.

We just have everyone's phone number on my husband's cell phone. For the families that have a charge for incoming text messages from a Verizon phone, the total cost was probably $5.00 for the summer. And they could be certain that as soon as we knew what the game schedule change was, they would know.

after dropping the onecallnow system for the very wonderful blackberry "group" texting, my latest update on my Blackberry software is now limiting groups to no more than 20 recipients... anyone have a way to "crack" this limit??? It used to be unlimited or didn't stop me from sending it to 25 people at once. Ugh, I will Google this issue now as well...

I use a system called phonevite. 5 cents a call - turns out to be more economical for me than onecallnow.

Our local little league uses www.onecallnow.com for every team. If I remember correctly, the charge was like $40 per team and there was enough room for multiple parent numbers per team depending on how my kids you had. Excellent service and parents can hear the message online if they choose. Service will repeat calling even if there is no voice mail available on the parent phone. Worth looking into.

we use onecallnow as well. It works with a 10 team signup , you get 25 numbers, unlimited calls for 6 months for $30.

If interested let me know and i can get your team in on our deal as well. I also do this for the Emerald Necklace League so we get more than 10 teams.

Agreed. I hooked out Rec System up with it a few years ago and they use it now for most of their sports.

There are probably a few people out there that would fall in the cracks, but the best solution - in my opinion - is TWITTER. Anyone who can get a text message can get instantly updated.

The organization sets up a Twitter account, and advertises the account. Individuals also need to set up an account, then subscribe the organization's feed. Individuals set their profiles to be able to receive text messages.

When the organization wants to update people, the responsible person sends a tweet - and everyone subscribed gets a text message.

It is easy to set up separate accounts for individual teams within an organization, but individuals only need one account to subscribe to multiple feeds. So, if you have more than one kid playing, your one account gets updates from all the teams.

For big organizations like rec softball leagues, it is a great way to get the work out quickly on changes such as rainouts.

The only real cost it the cost of text messaging. You put the responsibility of signing up on the individual, so they can drop at will.
