Thanks for the kind words about the OLP spring 08 team. Just for the record we had players from OLP, IC, and St. Tim's. Numbers being what they were in these smaller schools we have combined the last few seasons. We were blessed with great young ladies, very supportive parents and a great head coach - thanks to Mitch Ranz for all he's done for these girls.

I can't believe I have missed this thread for so long. While my wife kicked me out of the house because I was driving her nuts, I saw a lot of middle school games in the Dayton area. Two of the best players I saw and should have an immediate impact on their high school are:

Solphie Bolser, Fairborn, Miami Co. Blaze (previously mentioned): probably the best pitcher in the middle school GWOC ranks to lead, what I was told, to an undefeated year. She will fit well with the young talent at the high school.

Chandler Scott (I believe that is her first name), Centerville, Not sure of Summer Team: the best all around player I saw throughout the spring (pitcher, fielder, and HITTER). Should make an immediate impact for Centerville.

These two were women among girls in the several games I saw. I see some tough battles in the future between Fairborn and C'ville.

Thanks for your response. I heard a girl from the Doom was going to DeSales, found out she left DeSales so my info was wrong. Not familiar with the Dragons or Stampeed.
I know the Nightmare girls would have a nice advantage, playing in top tournaments and competition against the best high school players - all before they have even played a high school game!

Nagel Middle School in Anderson Twp one to beat in FAVC this April(Cinci area).

Mason, Loveland, Edgewood, it's time to move over. Nagel is loaded and ready with some solid pitchers with good hitting and fielding behind them.

Anderson and Turpin Highs, to receive a strong class of 2013.

This thread needs to be restarted because many of the 8th graders mentioned are now 9th graders.

Watch Savanna Speesson from Valley View. She is a true lefty. She has tremendous potiential. She will develope into a strong softball player. She plays first and is working really hard to become a premier lefty pitcher. She is a ninth grader this year. For the 2008-2009 season that is.

We need to talk about the girls in Lorain County. You got a strong Freshman class at Elyria right now (Alanna Williams-SS and Darien Ward-P). The Freshman class at Keystone is the team to really discuss. Mackenzie Conrad is a dominate pitcher along with Erin Pond who gives new meaning to a vacumn at SS. I am really excited about going to all the Keystone games this year. Tidal Waves produced some great players. Just so everyone is aware my kid doesn't play for Tidal Waves, I am just an admirer of great talent

Midview's 8th grade class shows promise to put the school on the softball map. Kate Thomas-1st base and Shelby Lantsberry-Catcher.

Keystone and Elyria both have good high school programs. You can tell that travel ball is feeding them some good players each year.

I can only talk about this area. Wooster and Loudonville. Many kids playing travel ball on a bunch of different travel teams. Those feeder systems make the high school program very tough.
