Pitching and Pitchers Discussion Who are the top pitching coaches in NE Ohio?

It doesn't matter how good or great a coach is; is the student going to practice what the teacher instructs, and practice it repetitively.

Radara will tell her students," If you only come here once a week for a lesson and don't practice on your own, you are wasting your time, my time, and your parents money." She's pretty much straight to the point.

hey ,i just noticed something. everyone who has replied including me got their information from their pitching coach or has read about pitching. doesn't seem to qualify any of us to talk about how terrible a pitching coach is.

Almost all (not all) of the coaches names mentioned here have proven pitchers that have gone on to college or are well known. I think it would be appropriate to ask for references.

Not a Leffew fan, add me to the list of once and out! Hillhouse and Gillis are the two best I have been around.

One coach will not be a good fit for every girl. I recommend trying a couple to see where your dd is comfortable. And it can change over time due to many circumstances. My dd has really had 2 pitching coaches over the last 6 years and wants to try a new one. Be flexible and when you find what works, go with it.

My dd has had two in the last several years. She is going into her third year with the coach she has, and loves her dearly. She has done wonders for my dd and is continuing to help her get better. However, if the day comes when we feel that she is no longer helping her, then it's time for a change.

Dave Peterson of Tallmadge puts on free clinics in November and December at Pronio's in Akron. He is very knowledgeable, is great with the girls, and his daughter pitched for Kent State.
