Who's the NEXT Super Team

Some discussion started in a really old/abused thread about WHO's the next Slammers? However, I think the appropriate questions is WHO'S THE NEXT OHIO SUPERTEAM?

Any Age Group, and no, this is not specific to a particular individual that happens to coach a new team, that happens to have coached one of the more recent Super Teams.

OPEN DISCUSION for all Age Groups.

Is there a SUPER TEAM out there already? if so, who are they and why are they SUPER?>

Are there other SUPER TEAMS in the making? If so, who and what are they missing from becoming a SUPER TEAM?

I believe SUPER TEAM can be defined as an Ohio Team that annually legitemately competes for a National ASA Championship(ie: Multiple Top Ten Finishes,,,, or potential to do so.)

I know it's from our organization, but Dave Day's Magic 18u white team would have to be in this discussion. Only team from Midwest to win the Colorado sparker, and usually is in the final four of every tournament it enters. Was very good as a 16u team playing 18's last year, and has added a couple more studs to last years squad.

NICE. Love to hear these things, as to check teams like this websites for schedules to see where we can get a glimpse of teams like this. It was a ton of fun to watch Lasers Red and Slammers last year when we could. Kids get to see some finer details from the sidelines, which is sometimes the best place to coach them. ^_^~

I'm going with Doom 95 in the 14U division, with the addition of Kayla Koch to back up Emily and plus Kayla's big bat, should give every team a run for their money!!

Will Ohio ever have a team that is a regular top 20 finisher at 14-U and 16-U ASA A Nationals and then a regular qualifier for Gold Nationals?

As far as I know Ohio has never had a true superteam that has lasted for more than a year or maybe two. When I say superteam I mean a top 10 finish at ASA A Nats at 12-U through 16-U or Gold Nationals. 18-U A and any Easterns do not count in superteam status.

It will be a team with a non-parent head coach; girls that practice several days a week, every week of the year; parents who understand what the deal is and do not interfere with the coaching.

Let me see, how many teams in Ohio are like that.......oh yeh, NONE!!!

Hard to say the way the teams that "could" be "that" team tend to break up. Several candidates potentially ...

* Doom 95 ... great team, great experience, getting better, seem to be committed
* Ohio Lasers 94 ... just simply loaded, but will pitching be enough?
* Ohio Intensity ... well, you know why ... may take a year though ... if he builds it they will come
